Is America going to a path similar to 1920s Germany?

A little history lesson:

Before the rise of Hitler and the Nazis, Germany was in tatters due to them losing WW1 and being forced to pay war reparations to UK and France via the Treaty of Versailles.

In the streets of Berlin and other German cities, both Communists and Fascists commit violence against one another while moderates were powerless to do something.

German society was polarized between insiders and outsiders, or what German historian Hans-Ulrich Wehler describes as a “cartel of traditional power elites” vs “the onslaught of new forces,” comprising those frozen out of political and economic power. Proportional representation enabled extremist factions, notably the Nazi Party, to surge. Corporate and labor leaders, the landed aristocracy and other interest groups shortsightedly focused on their individual self-interests at the expense of the nation’s. Wealth and income inequality grew. Hyperinflation and the Great Depression devastated Germans’ lives, driving many to support political extremists. Church leaders were passive in the face of growing threats to German democracy and remained largely silent on the ugly racism that took hold in political discourse.

One of the reasons why Hitler came to power was because he told the people that he will end the violence in the streets.

Sadly it seems America is heading toward that direction.

The conditions in America are favorable for political violence to grow. Low public confidence in the Republic’s institutions. Widespread ownership of guns. Cheers from Left and Right for their thugs. Already strong right-wing gangs (“militia”), about which intel agencies warned in 2009. Years of apocalyptic warnings from Left and Right create the sense of imminent doom that motivates people to take to the street. Commies! Nazis! Gonna take your guns! Gonna put you in camps! These fears are powered by America’s growing economic and social stress, plus our loss of social cohesion. The tinder is there for a fire which will prove difficult to extinguish, or even control.

The polarization of America seemed to radicalize everyone left and right.

Both left and right wing were not only calling for acts of violence but actually committed violence.

We have antifa storm troopers committing violence against anyone who doesn't agree with them and while we have right wingers such as Milo Yiannopoulos who called for journalists to be shot.

Even Maxine Waters who once called out the CIA in 1998 and tried to do some good things in the past got caught up with this partisan infighting by threatening to harass Trump officials.

It makes me wonder how long will it takes before people will start thinking that the only way to end the polarization of America and restore order is by electing a dictator? It may be laughable but down the line in the next few decades or so if this continues, there's no telling how long will people stay faithful to the Republic.

Maybe we are actually in the year 1859.

I did hear Maxine Waters shooed someone with a peace of paper, so maybe your right and it is getting dangerous out there.

Uh depends on where you live. Some California cities like Berkeley have to deal with antifa stormtroopers.

Maybe not now, but in the next few years or so, we'll probably see the beginning of conditions similar to 1920s Germany.

America is entering a golden age. There is no economic dispair. There is no legitimate reason for anyone to be upset.

The fact that so many leftists feel this way demonstrates mental illness, not reality.

Your history lesson reads more like an opinion piece for the Onion...

Lets not forget about the college campuses that hold rallies on how not to be racist but BAN whites from attending.

Blacks only classes being held on campuses, etc etc etc.

But it wont matter, you can provide any amount of evidence to this poster they will just deny it, even if you linked direct articles.
