RIP to both in this sad situation. Exact spot that a police diver also drowned in full scuba gear.

This river is crazy dangerous all the way from Buffalo to Lake Ontario with Niagara Falls in between.

Man, you messed up the thread.

You always see duplicate and triplicate posts from the same posters but when is it from differing posters?

Anyway,

Best wishes to the 2 men's loved ones.

As an avid fisherman and outdoorsman during my youth and part of my adult life, what is sad is that both of these deaths were unnecessary. I almost drown in a river one tenth the size of the Niagara River. Not because I wasn't educated on the danger of fast moving water, but I slipped off of a big rock along the bank.

Knowing the dangers of mother nature could have prevented these two unnecessary loss of lives.

Its a shame we have to use death by sacrifice to even approach the left, and sadder still when its not enough.

La falta de oxigeno cuando sumergido es mortal para todos. Se me pasa algo desapercivido?

The lack of oxygen when submerged is deadly for all. I miss something unperceived?;

Jeezus.. where's a rope when you need one? That was sad to see.. the water looked dead calm, must be a terribly deceptive undercurrent?

"Police say one man entered the river, trying to retrieve some driftwood, he was quickly swept away by the current"

I couldn't even stand up in a creek 2 feet deep in Utah while kayaking. I couldn't stand up. It's not like an ocean wave. A wave hits you then the force is gone. Constant pressure. Don't go in without trained people on shore with ropes. That's rescue people trained, who aren't going to be on scene.
