Secret Service to provide temporary security at Sanders' home

NBC News, citing a law enforcement official, first reported Tuesday evening that the Secret Service would provide additional security for the high-profile Trump administration official.

The Secret Service declined to comment to The Hill on the matter.

I guess this is the beginning of the end, IMO. The long forgotten need for debate given way to extremist faction action based upon years of rhetoric that culminates to special protection for an office of the administration in power.

This only ends one way, and that falls on the opposite end of defense.

Read a recent history book. The U.S. had thousands of domestic bombings per year in the early 1970s. This is what happens when citizens decide en masse that their political system is corrupt, racist, and unresponsive. The people out of power have only just begun to flex their dissatisfaction. The day will come, sooner that you all think, when Trump administration officials will look back fondly on the time when all they had to worry about was getting hollered at at a Mexican restaurant. On a more serious note, no one wins if we escalate into widespread violence. I love my country too, including the brightly colored soy crowd. (It makes meat and potatoes that much more delicious, but that's beside the point.)

I think the bit that makes me think otherwise is that 99.99% of the time a political attack (physical) would befall an actual influencer, as opposed to a mere spokesperson.
