I've just seen a documentary about Skibladner on norwegian tv. It was build between 1854–1856. It took longer to build, because of the Crimean War.
During WWII, the germans wanted to confiscate it and use it to transport troops. In the middle of the night, someone took it and sailed away. They hid
it in a nearby river using camouflage. The germans didn't find it!
