Well at least he declared bankruptcy, unlike the US's insolvency being kicked further down the road.

terrestrial pretty fast. If any of his past projects are an indication.

So the Force will be built by Trump enterprises or Trump personally?

Were you talking about the Government or Trump here - yea right

Government of any kind is nothing more than a monstrous protection racket

Glad I could help.

That's what happens when you spend 18 hours a day reading about aircraft and military stuff for fun.

The U2 remains one of the best designs ever.

Period.

There will be others and there will be better, but the U2 broke every mold there was...and some that hadn't even been thought of.

Thank god we did it first.

It would be interesting to see what they could have done with one with hydraulics. Thing is a bitch and a half to fly.

We already have Space Command.

As cool as 'Space Force' sounds, I don't see a reason we need to spend trillions of dollars on a new branch. Not to mention militarizing NASA (which is what this new branch would do) just begs to break the international treaty on outer space.

We have three Space Commands that do the same thing, but for their individual services, and don't work under one umbrella. Which means lots of unnecessary overlap that will go away.

The international treaty on outer space isn't as restrictive as most people seem to believe it is. It doesn't say that weapons are banned in space, it says weapons of mass destruction and nuclear weapons are banned.

As it stands right now, this won't do anything to or like NASA. It will continue doing what the military has always done, under their individual space commands, but under one umbrella.

Someone needs to tell the President that space is pretty well covered by the existing branches of the military.

and then...lol

But with that said I agree with the President completely. I believe it should be it's own branch of the military.

We been on Mars since early 1950s and have a huge space presents, maybe this is all about disclosure.

It's actually an attempt to streamline the military that has an actual chance in hell of succeeding, unlike every other attempt.

If we accept the premise that Aliens have been visiting us throughout history,
all the religions making pronouncements on alien life not being incompatible with their religions...
& the point that there are likely multiple alien races visiting earth - who are already in contact with governments
i.e. Rosewell, Dulce - then a space force is the logical step to disclosure

The US report in the 1960's (what was the name of it again) that warned mass panic if disclosure occurred - could only be neutralised if our governments can tell us we are safe from alien attack.

A space force will enable our government to ''protect us'.

A great announcement from trump today. A step to disclosure.

Flew with a pilot in the 80s on C-141s who was a prior U2 pilot. I asked him why he switched and he said the U2 scared the crap out of him every flight.
