What is Rod Rosenstein so afraid of? I've never heard of a top DOJ official threatening Congressional members like this! Congress's duty and legal obligation is to OVERSEE the Department of Justice. Congress CREATED the DOJ on July 1, 1870.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein threatened to “subpoena” emails, phone records and other documents from lawmakers and staff on a Republican-led House committee during a tense meeting earlier this year, according to emails reviewed by Fox News documenting the encounter and reflecting what aides described as a "personal attack."

The emails memorialized a January 2018 closed-door meeting involving senior FBI and Justice Department officials as well as members of the House Intelligence Committee. The account claimed Rosenstein threatened to turn the tables on the committee's inquiries regarding the Russia probe.

As expected, Anti-America CNN comes to Rod Rosenstein's aid.

Washington (CNN)-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's ongoing battle with House Republicans reached new heights Tuesday, as the No. 2 senior leader of the Justice Department plans to call on the House to investigate its own committee staff.

Justice Department officials dispute the recounting of the closed-door meeting detailed in the story, and Rosenstein plans to "request that the House general counsel conduct an internal investigation of these Congressional staffers' conduct" when he returns from a foreign trip this week, DOJ said.

It's "interesting" that most of the pro-Mueller / pro-DOJ articles are written by CNN reporter, Laura Jarrett. Laura is the daughter of President Obama's "handler", Valerie Jarrett.

But Rosenstein said last month that he "fully expects" that Trump will fire him....and he's prepared for it. Why not simply resign, with a little dignity?

Mr RR is out of his comfort zone.

That hole tends to make people desperate and fidgety.

And their true colors tend to fly at full mast.

Because he is dying to get fired. He wants the ammo for the left and mueller investigation saying obstruction...

Think of him this way. He is that piece of crap employee you hired who has always been a dead beat and has never done a good job. The kind of guy who instead of works looks for a slip and fall or some sort of EEO lawsuit he can file against you.

He knows he is lazy and a piece of crap but he doesn’t just quit. He waits and looks for some way he can get a hand out or screw over the system.

Lowest piece of garbage their is.

Sessions is doing a Fox interview with Tucker now.

fyi

He's defending RR, saying he doesn't think RR threatened to subpoena members.

Doesn't it seem like 80% of all news stories are from leakers, also known as "anonymous sources"? Some are authorized and some are not. It's crazy out there!

Jeff Sessions just poo-pooed that accusation on Tucker's program. He said RR was misunderstood or what he said was misrepresented...something to that affect. hmmmm...

It's official. Even though Congress has oversight of the DOJ, Rod Rosenstein is coming after Congressional members who dare question his authority. Starting with those on the House Intelligence Committee.

Things have escalated in the conflict between Congress and the DOJ.

Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein is preparing to launch an internal investigation into the staffers who allege that he threatened to subpoena their records, should he be held in contempt of Congress.

House Republicans have grown increasingly impatient over the DOJ’s lethargic pace in disclosing documents relating to inquiries into the Trump-Russia investigation.

Either Jeff Sessions, or the big boss, President Trump, need to bring this to a conclusion, one way or the other.

If Rosenstein has found information of a criminal nature, shouldn't he have the right to pursue an investigation? I don't care whether it's democrats or republicans, we all want the swamp drained and equal treatment under the law. CNN just seems to think it's going to lead into some dirt about trump, unlikely. From what we've seen, the more these progressive idiots push, the more comes out about democrat corruption. If certain republicans get caught in the web, they are acceptable losses and reasonable collateral damage. You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs and you can't drain the swamp on only one side. "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs if war."

Cheers - Dave

Rosenstein also has the LEGAL OBLIGATION to supply requested documents to the body that CREATED the DOJ... CONGRESS.

To ignore them, and then start your own investigation (aka witch hunt) into individual Congressmen is just plain WRONG.

I think that's what Jeff Sessions had in mind all along. He wants to come across as being the only person giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and then claim that his decision to fire Rosenstein was all based on someone else's recommendation. As xuenchen said, I think it's part of his strategy, or at least I hope it is.

Is old Rod boy getting worried that Congress now has information linking him to the nefarious Clinton Foundation and the real purpose it was designed for ?
A Podesta like ?
Any way , it sounds like a probe to find out what dirt they have on him...
Wouldnt doubt it a bit.
