I think, I hope, and I pray, that today's events are a turning point. A positive one.

Meetings in expensive hotels are way better than far more expensive hails of bullets and bombs over borders.

Two leaders talked and no-one died. That's important.

I believe that President Trump may have staked a claim to a solid place in history as a peace-maker. And I must admit, I have not been much of a supporter of this man in the past. But I will not deny what stares me in the face: in respect of North Korea, President Trump has achieved what no-one else has achieved in the past several decades.

If you can't figure out that the OP is presenting this as a positive, historic event, read it again. It's spelled out plainly enough.

That was different.

Harking back to events from more than 3/4 of a century ago has little relevance to this situation anyway, but okay, as my (now late) grandfather said: "Chamberlain was a fool". My grandad had some perspective on this, as he was a fireman in London. Including during the ensuing Blitzkrieg. He considered Chamberlain a fool from the first moment the man uttered those absurd words. And my grandad's opinion wasn't due to politics, just pure practicality.

Though I have not been a fan of Trump, there is no way he's a fool in Chamberlain's ilk. I see POTUS Trump as pretty much "WYSIWYG". In many ways, I don't like that. (BTW, as I am not an American, my opinion of him matters very little. But I'm just saying, FTR.) But in some ways, his up-front character is a positive. And at the end of the day, Trump knows how to make deals, and can smell if a deal will work or fall into a heap.

I have a good feeling about this, FWIW.

You may differ. I don't mind, nor do I care. But leave Chamberlain and Brit-German politics from the 1930s out of this, as they are actually utterly irrelevant. Okay?

I'm just gonna take a moment..............
Trump has some big ass ballz man. He is willing to visit north korea. That in itself tells many things about our Presidents potency on the world stage. Just saying peace in his time would be the icing on the cake. No longer will we be hindered with lifetime politicians. MAGA

Frankly speaking, I don't care if you think I don't get the what the OP is presenting... just trying to add a bit of humor with a caveat. I guess you already figured that out.

Care to substantiate that or should we just take your word for it?

Substantiate the fact that trying to compare Kim Jong Un and little, broke-ass, technologically deficient North Korea as being anywhere near Nazi Germany or the most powerful country in modern history with "still reeling from WWI, watching their position slip with increasing speed Britain" is utterly irrelevant? Really? You need that substantiated? Your brain... use it,

It is a nice photo. They both look better in black and white.
