I ran across these guys at work the other day, and I was curious so I checked them out. They're a YouTube thing, but they've gotten big enough that they're going on tour.

What they do is take modern songs and do covers of them in various vintage styles. Sometimes, they have predictably wacky results like Europe's "The Final Countdown" done in a vintage Cabaret style.

At other times, we're talking really good and smokin' hawt like these covers of "Seven Nation Army" as a New Orleans Dirge and "Zombie" done in a soul style.

Anyhow, I thought I'd share because I'm enjoying looking through their song catalog. It's different and highly entertaining to me to see modern songs done in a different way.

That Seven Nation Army cover is one of the best ones they've done. Although I have to say the Mad World one is probably my favorite, just such an amazing mash-up and duo going on there. Also Wayne Brady with Thriller was a particularly good one. The wife and I were going to see them last year but unfortunately missed the chance.

Sent shivers down my spine when I first heard that.
I was so not happy when they did a bit of a world tour and I found out a week after they played in Leeds UK

I have really been into music like portishead and karen elson. Music that is modern but sounds vintage.

Been waiting for the day something like scott bradless's postmodern jukebox would come around.

Hell if I had talent in the musical arts I would have done it myself.

Have you realized that each song will have a new singer, writer, musician ?

And there are like a thousand of them.

Also I forgot to mention amy winehouse in that list of modern vintage music to check out if you like this stuff.
