I agree, CIS male is toxic these days, but I try to carry the flag and continue complimenting lol
It was nice getting a compliment off a fit 20 something girl today though

We older guys take what we can get. I was thrilled when my 40ish family doctor called me a ‘young guy’ during my last visit. She made my day.

I'll be 37 in a few days but the compliments I get the most (from everyone male + female) is that I look 20-25 usually. Almost everyone thinks I'm really young - which I'm really pleased about actually. I'll probably look 40 when I'm 80.

Lol funny twat!

I totally loved her compliment today, a girl half my age telling me she thinks I look good, who wouldn't?!
...no commission either, she wasn't trying to sell me anything.

All society really needs to work. Is for everyone to be polite to each other while in public. But that seems to be getting harder and harder for everyone to do.

When I am out and about and interacting with people. Every other sentence out of my mouth is, thank you very much have a nice day. And guess what. I never have any problems. When you are polite, most people will be polite back. At least in my experience. Plus you always get better service. Win win.

As to complimenting random women on the street that is not really my thing. Unless I have some sort of previous relationship with them. I don't think it is wrong or anything. I am just not on the prowl. So it never crosses my mind to compliment shoes, hair or anything like that.

As to receiving compliments. I get them from time to time. These days mostly from other guys complimenting my T-shirts. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I wear lots of nerdy shirts. So I get lots of nerdy compliments. Again not that there is anything wrong with that.

I do always get compliments about my silky hair from women who cut my hair. But I am paying them. So not sure if that counts. Triple whammy not that there is anything wrong with that.

cis-male

Part of the problem is using the Progressive fake words. If you are a straight male just say so instead of perpetuating the labels of PC culture.

In the spirit of the thread let me compliment you on your heterosexuality.

Ha! I don’t know who in the hell came up with it, but swear to god I asked my girl last night what “cis” meant and she said “google it”. In spirit of the thread, good to hear that you take some solace in a family doctor giving you a compliment...did he have one or two hands on your shoulders for that over-40 prostate examine when complimentsing? I am sure he was very complimentary

i get compliments from guys and i don't think they're being creepy... unless they start acting creepy.

if you have a fear of giving compliments, the problem is probably not the compliment but your ability to read social cues and/or know what's appropriate to say to someone you just met.

It is hard for me to be friendly to some people without them getting weirded out.

I am affected by mild autistic traits and don't really "get" a lot of non-verbal cues. I naturally creep people out. So I keep to myself.

Definitely no "I like your makeup" coming from me. Mostly aloofness.

turned silver at a very early age.

You were sporting a ‘chrome dome’ (shaved head)? Just because?? That’s baller, if so!

Regarding compliments, it’s a tricky internal dialogue/proposition for an American cis-male.

No it's not. If you see an attractive female and wish to compliment her, do so. If you wish to flirt with her, do so. If she rejects the compliment or makes it clear the flirting is unwanted, move on. My God, why do we placate this PoundMeToo nonsense and give it any additional power by kowtowing to it?
