An early Father's Day gift from the wife. Haven't gotten around to a name yet. He's 7 weeks old from a good line with papers. But this is Oregon so everyone has "papers" now.

The picture is poor, sorry. He was hungry and just "plopped" onto the plate of food.

I'm just all "teenaged girl" over this pup.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

What his/her gender?

I know I left out about 50 other possibilities. But cute pup anyways!

He identifies as a male.

And I have his permission to call him a "Good boy".

I am not going to force him to potty outside.

That would be cis-normative authoritarian.

Instead, I will ask him if he needs to go out in a non-confrontational manner.

Good choice. They have personalities like no other breed.

Just socialize him to tons of people, pets and noises early on.

Rotts are attached at the hip to family and take extra work to not take the leadership role.
Especially the males.

Hit me up if you want any training tips. I've worked with rotts for many a moons.

A quick tip, if you didn't know...

Crate training so they sleep in the crate and are immediatly carried outdoors to pee a few times, until they walk to the door themselves is a fast way to potty train him.

Wild dogs cant go in the den, so their perspective of their den(crate) is slowly expanded to include your house.
Makes it easier than just waiting for them to pee on the carpet.

Sweet dog

Lucky you! Dogs are truly mans best friend.

Love him as much as he'll love you and cherish the rest of your days together.

Haha nice, you sound Floridian. If you are down here in the TB area, we prob crossed paths at
Davis island or Picnic island, we are there all the time.
Ft.Desoto dog beach is the best hands down.

Got to watch the sketch crap on the beaches like parvo etc on the young pups before they have all their boosters.

I will get mauled if I say the "B" word around my dog.

Keep us updated with some pics dude

Oregonian.

But yeah, we're part of the "dog scene" on the beach.
