Political correctness strikes again. Why should this man apologize for using a common saying. I may not like him or his message but the blowback and forced apology is ridiculous.

He later apologized. “In an otherwise good interview I made a terrible word choice, saying an impeachment 'bullet' can only be 'shot once' so one must 'shoot to kill.' I wasn’t speaking literally, but as one who works hard to reduce gun violence this was just inexcusable. I’m very sorry,” he tweeted.

For the same reason Ted Nugent had to. I'm all for free speech, but this "esteemed" dude made himself and his school look stupid. He should have apologised IMO.

Why, for using a common saying that we all use all the time?

When was the last time you used that exact phrase? You have to be a moron to use that language towards a president....any president. Which is why the Nuge had to apologise.

Hopefully one result of Trump's presidency will be the eventual dismantling of public perception regarding Ivy league schools. Never before have I seen these schools take such an active stance in politics, especially taking this contrived antagonist stance.

Think of past presidents that academia has opposed. Nixon. Bush Sr. Bush Jr....Professors have never publically railed even a fraction as hard as they are against Trump. And given all of the positive events stemming from Trump's actions, it makes their true intentions glow in the dark to anyone even semi-redpilled.

This is how manipulation works (and fake news). Say whatever you want people to think and then apologize for it later.

If he didn't mean it literally then there is no reason to apologize. Grow a pair man. Stick up for yourself.

a close friend of President Obama

Says enough for me right there.
Bet Tribe still believes Obama is President. Or is looking for a return after Trump is impeached.
Poor deluded person
When a person is suffering from deep delusion , you don't know if what they say is literal or figurative.
Watch this person real close....

Exactly, but in this toxic liberal atmosphere you can't do that, and him being a liberal, he knows they will eat him alive and he will have no shelter.

I actually used it a few weeks ago in regards to an MMA fight. It's a very common saying and I knew exactly what he meant. I don't like this professor, and I have no problem with what he said.
