Rudy Giuliani admits 'Spygate' is Trump PR tactic against Robert Mueller

Must admit I never really liked Rudy Giuliani but since he was appointed to Trumps team I'm loving his honesty.

“Of course we have to do it to defend the president,” Trump’s lawyer told CNN State of the Union host Dana Bash, who accused him of being part of a campaign to undermine the Mueller investigation. Trump has repeatedly called the special counsel’s work a “witch hunt”, despite its producing five guilty pleas, including by three former Trump aides, and evidence of Russian tampering in US elections.

“It is for public opinion,” Giuliani said of his public campaign of dissimulation. “Because eventually the decision here is going to be impeach or not impeach. Members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans, are going to be informed a lot by their constituents. And so our jury – and it should be – is the American people.

I noticed this too. I guess Rudy figures the best way to fight for Trump is to openly admit wrongdoings up front so that those same wrongdoings can't hurt them on the tail end of things.

What? Your title doesn't match what's being said in the article.

"SPYGATE" is not a PR tactic. The article states that calling the Mueller investigation a "witch hunt" is a PR tactic. Mueller is not investigating Spygate, he's investigating the Russian collusion narrative.

The only reason Guiliani claims that "witch hunt" is a PR tactic to begin with is because it's already been determined that Mueller is not able to indict a sitting President. He is only able to try and convince the Senate to impeach Trump.

Once Spygate is investigated and the truth comes out, the Mueller investigation will die.

ETA: A handful of Republicans have already called for a second special counsel to investigate "Spygate". Obviously, they thought there was enough evidence for one, and if only half of the news that we've been privy to is true, then there is absolute reason to investigate Halper, Mifsud and the entire Spygate operation and the intelligence agencies who paid these two "professors".

Have you been living under a rock? Republicans are definitely backing Trumps claims and have called for a second special counsel to investigate the DOJ and FBI. Have you not been reading reports on the upcoming Inspector General's report? This is why Republicans are asking for the special counsel in the first place.

I didn't see you chastising Trump for hiring such an obvious "shill" a month ago. If you did that you'd be chastising him all the time because it seems he constantly surrounds himself with swamp creatures without any notion of personal accountability for being the one who chooses them. You guys always give him a "get out of jail free" card, always. He was right when he said he wouldn't lose a single voter after shooting someone on 5th avenue, you guys always have an excuse to cover for him.

Like I said in my edit, you guys never hold Trump responsible for any of the decisions he makes, unless of course you are in agreement with the end result. If you don't like the end result it's everyone's fault but Trump's, it never fails that you guys come up with excuses for him.

Mueller can't indict a sitting President by law. The most his investigation can hope for is trying to prove Russian collusion in order to have Trump impeached, since it's not possible to indict him.
