He didn't break a law.

He was recording with his phone on a public street. People record on their phones in public all the time across England.

That sounds more likely given the past coverups, but I am not too unaware of the facts of the matter.

This will happen in every country with large populations of muslims embedded in multiple cities. The government cant control the fervent anti-native mob, so they come down on the natives. This is the message: you can not and will not expose the incompatibility of a culture that has infested your own, as that culture's zeal far outweighs your own.

When muslims perceive an injustice to one of their own, the entire city will turn out and cause trouble until they get their way - The British sit in front of the tv to watch events unfold when the same happens to one of their own. this is what the government base their decisions on.

The rights of the accused are a concern. The right to not be identified as the accused is a whole other ballgame they played FOR the rapists. It is sure how it looks from here.

Right to face your accuser and in a court of law precludes privacy. If it goes to court it is now a public matter, period.

The perps need exposed for their crimes and if innocent, exoneration. That is all this is about and it sounds like rapists are being coddled.

Open court and open justice exists where that is the case, although when it comes to young and vulnerable people - i.e those unable to consent - their anonymity is enshrined in law when it comes to court reporting, which is what Tommy was attempting.

Aside from children it's used primarily in major international crime syndicates or offences worth of 40 year jail sentence (mass murder etc..).

There's no coddling in this - The names, addresses, ages and occupations of the defendants and witnesses are usually given. It's just EDL breaking the law on child anonymity in sex cases and breaking right to fair trial, innocent until proven guilty.

He'd be perfectly free to film from a distance of 20ft from the entrance and show images of the defendants and call them alleged gang rapists, but until a verdict is given it's illegal to broadcast a statement indicating whether they are innocent or guilty.

Don't block an entrance to a court (i.e film on a public space which is 20ft from a court entrance) and always be sure to use the word allegedly, allegedly, or 'allegedly' when covering cases.

The law provides automatic anonymity to the victim in respect of the vast majority of sexual offences from the moment a complaint is made by them or someone else that they are a victim of a sex crime. This applies for life.

It applies whether or not:

The allegation is subsequently withdrawn
The police have been told about it
There is a prosecution
There is a conviction.

I never said he'd be released then, he's in until his hearing on Tuesday according to his associates and legal team. This is standard procedure when in breach of a current prison sentence (in this case he was on suspended sentence, similar to probation but used when the crime doesn't warrant all out jail).

As he's already on a suspended jail sentence for having committed the same 'alleged' offense, and told he would be jailed if he repeated the offense, the chances are he will be jailed for a couple of months.
