I wasn't by any means implying that it was some link between the two in regards to a conspiracy involving Trump and the election. However, the BBC's source is in fact saying that money was funneled through Chabad of Port Washington.

Felix Sater, who aside from everything else is Michael Cohen's boyhood friend (since they were teens), isn't just a member of Chabad of Port Washington, he was their Man of the Year in 2014:



There was an additional allegation that Felix Sater facilitated the whole thing. The fact Felix Sater was their man of the year should probably tell you something. What do you know about Felix Sater?

- Felix Sater was a 27 year-old Wall Street broker when he got into a fight with a banker in a bar, over a women neither of them knew, and slashed the man's face with a broken margarita glass. A permanently disfiguring injury that required 110 stitches. He was convicted for the assault and went to prison.

- By 32 he was involved in a pump and dump scheme that defrauded investors out of $40 million. A scheme that involved both the Russian mob and the Italian mafia. He was indicted in 2000 for his involvement and cut a deal, flipping on his co-conspirators for what amounted to a slap on the wrist.

- Somehow, despite these things, by 2003 he was a senior at Bayrock, founded by Tevfik Arif (an ex-Soviet official from Kazakhstan). Arif, who is also mentioned in the article, isn't Jewish. He does however own a mansion in Port Washington and he is one of the largest donors to Chabad of Port Washington.

- Not long after, he's managing director at Bayrock and setting up a setting up one deal after another with Trump. Some of which they were sued for. Bayrock was independently sued for other projects.

One of the Bayrock-Trump projects was to build a Trump Tower in Phoenix on the site of closed mall. That deal fell through because of zoning issues which couldn't be smoothed over because of public outcry. One of the developers involved sued in 2007. His name is Ernest Mennes. Among other things he accused Sater of skimming money from the project for himself. He also related that when he threatened to reveal Sater's criminal past, Sater told him that he had a cousin who would, electrically shock his testicles, cut off his legs and stuff his corpse in the trunk of a car.

That suit was settled.

Apparently their vetting for Man of the Year is even worse than Trump's.

Anyway, I don't think it's unreasonable under these specific circumstances to note these particular connections.

But, the Ukraine is not part of Russia anymore, they even have lobbiests in Washington now to try to get what they desire. There is not anything illegal about this that I know of, these interested parties can contact anyone they want to try to get seen or recognized. This would make Cohen a lobbiest. Most lawyers have that ability but I think they have to report out of country income. Oh that is right, the money went through an American group. so all he needs to do is report it and figure a way to shelter it from taxes.

Boy, this Cohen guy is sure hooked on money, like many lawyers and DC residents, they will sell their soul many times to the highest bidder. Next we will hear that someone is sneaking in McDs for trump so Trump will stop sanctions or Tariffs against a country. That would probably work lots better than bribing his lawyer.

I'm not sure what your perceived anger is about. Both are being investigated as we speak, the facts will come out, and if Trump was trying to make a few bucks since his account was getting low, it will be found and he will be punished. Even if his base is angry. Just as the other investigation seems to suggest that the Intelligence community tried to stage a soft coup on Trump. Maybe that's true, maybe not.

Taking bribes is bad enough, criminal conspiracy to withold information from an investigation into if the Elections were stolen is worse, acting on behalf of a foreign state undeclared is VERY illegal. He failed to declare his actions subverting democracy and criminal investigations. Heads will roll for this. Ukraine are put in a precarious position now too.
