looking for a police scanner

I don't think it's technically illegal to own a scanner, but it is frowned upon if you're found in possession of one. They're no illegal because they pick up other activity besides police ... and they're sold on Amazon. Ha! But when monitoring the police channels, you have to be aware that a lot of the chatter you want to hear is going out over encrypted tac channels. So it's not like you can listen to the SWAT teams raiding a house or clearing a building.

If applications are not suitable for private communication, what kind of walkie-talkie can you offer?
