Spare the 'illegal' rhetoric. It's ancient history and will change nothing at this juncture.

It is also fact.

Eygpt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia are actively working with israel

I vaguely recall from an article sometime back where the Patriot missiles, part of the Iron Dome, don't fire intercepting missiles if the trajectory of the rockets fired will land in an open or unpopulated area.

I'd bet that the 'some were hit' was due to selective targeting. they are a damn sight more expensive than the incoming rockets, especially if they're unguided as these likely were.

Simply put. Iron dome is weak??
I think not.

BBC report

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitoring group, confirmed that rockets were fired towards the occupied Golan. But it said the attack came after Israeli forces bombarded Baath, a town in the demilitarised zone.

Israel has been on heightened alert in recent days in anticipation of an Iranian attack: Tehran has vowed retaliation for two other recent Israeli strikes in Syria which targeted and killed at least 13 Iranian nationals.

Retaliation against retaliatory strikes..
I might be wrong, not at my best today.

Yes this is correct, we've seen that during the various Gaza operations. Only a fraction of incoming projectiles are activley targeted, actual interception rates are 90%+, but depending on the target/trajectory they may use multiple interceptors at each target.
And Patriot is another SAM-System entirely, has nothing to do with Iron Dome. Iron Domes interceptors are called Tamir and are an indigenous Israeli development. The IDF has Patriots as well, but those are usually used against aircraft and short range balistic missiles (with PAC-3 upgrade). They are currently in the proccess of fielding Magic Wand systems to eventually replace the Patriots. Magic Wand Interceptors (called Stunner) are another indigenous Israeli design and are a candidate for the upcoming PAAC-4 upgrade of Patriot.

My view of it is the 'who started it' debate will carry on for decades after the show is over.

I'm more concerned with where it's going rather than where it's coming from, at least for now.

As long as US lives and tax payers dollars aren't involved, I don't care what happens.

Unfortunately we'll have to foot some of the bill for our adopted child with rage problems.

Sure it's a 'fact'. It's also a 'fact' that the attack on Israel that led to seizing the heights was 'illegal'. I guess illegal stuff stuff happens.

I have zero problem with Israel's 'illegal act' in response the illegal act that invoked it. On and on...

Pretty much.

The isrealis are tough, infact, I believe they are much tougher then most militaries.

They have to be, face an existential threat from all corners will breed a strong and powerful response to do what is needed.

Fires back...

Ask the syrian people about the IS Air Force.
They will tell you that this is the israelian ar force which bombed often only to help the IS.

So, how can they fire back when they first attacked illegally another souverain country?
Seems that the illegally attacked ones are firing back, not the other way around.

It seems it´s getting lonely around that axis of evil, "U"SA, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
But hey, from their view all the others are always wrong-way drivers, even if all the others drive on the right side of the road.

Probably because most Israeli's know just one # up militarily and it's game over for the state of Israel. There will be no second chance. There is enough hatred of them to see Israel destroyed in entirety. Those that are not killed will have to escape abroad, there will be no tolerance for them after what has happened over the last 70 years. Other states or people can fight a battle and lose only to make some sort of peace. Israeli's know that it's game over for them.

By attacks I assume you speak of both parties violating the DMZ, and the Israeli PM admitting Israel provoked most of the attacks so they could annex it? Oh and this is also the widely held view of the international community.

But at least you're honest Israel gets a pass no matter what.... Because they're exempt from international law.

And when someone retaliates to Israeli aggression, it's conveniently worded as an attack on Israel even if it's attack by proxy on occupied land that doesn't belong to Israel.

If I didn't know better, I'd say this is a biased outlook rather than objective one.

I'd also go on to say you don't care who struck first or what happens next, because as long as international law is ignored and favorites are to be had all based off of a book written by men thousands of years ago and loosely translated.... Peace in the Middle East is a pipe dream.

We'll continue to piss lives and money away because of an old book.

Am I close?

Also, just so we're clear, I'm not defending anyone in the Middle East, they've all got severe issues.

That being said, if we as a country believe everyone has God given rights, then that applies to every human. Including the right to protest.

And for the unarmed protesters shot and killed by Israeli snipers who laughed and celebrated.... I think it shows a dangerous sentiment of believing some people are more human than others.

I'll be the first to agree goverments are flawed, and some over there are criminal. But citizens rarely hold all the beliefs their governments project.

If we're the country that claims to be a global force for freedom, I sure as hell don't see it by supporting who we do.

Your right of Isreal loses a conflict its game over for them and they know it. Had they lost the 6 day war Israel would not exist today. And they know every one of their neighbors are hostile towards them and has called for their destruction. Iran is just the latest to take up the call
