Well HELL YEAH!

So this is some interesting news finally. Seems an odd break in the cycle.

So thoughts on Oli becoming NRA President?

Source

Lt. Col. Oliver North is set to become the president of the National Rifle Association of America, a process the NRA Board of Directors initiated Monday, the group announced.

Good pick. He's a Marine, an honorable man, defender of the Second Amendment, and well spoken.

His trial was more watched than any Olympics or sport venue, probably even more that the final episode of Dallas.... Good Choice.

Hitler died a long time ago and so did his Army. I am not a fan of Olly for his past deeds, but if he found Jesus and is willing to defend the 2nd then God Speed Colonel!

...because there's so much difference between the US supporting Contras in Nicaragua and the US supporting the KLA, the Mujahideen, Syria, Libya, the Arab Spring rebel groups, Cuban rebels, Congolese rebels, Sudanese rebels, and the Muslim Brotherhood, right? It's called proxy war and it's been the SOP for decades.

I think....wow, i mean...wow...i am sorry, it's hard to have a rational conversation when someone just
compared Hitler to Oliver North, wow

Oli will be a strong fundraiser and, wow, still cannot over the Hitler comparison.

A terrible choice (with North's seeming addiction to lying) by the NRA --- imho --- but that's the kind of riff-raff that the NRA has been hiring lately.

You seem to be forgetting the other part of that little deal.

I would prefer Tom Sellek personally, Ollie is carrying a lot of baggage still that does not need to be attached to the NRA. If anything it brings them closer to the bought and sold lobbyist status many already paint them as.

Indeed, it's like the "circumventing arms embargo against Iran" part doesn't click.

I would agree but like North, does Selleck have any experience running a major lobby? Unless its a Heston style figurehead.......

If that's who the NRA wants, then what's the big deal?

It's about preserving and defending an enumerable right.

Something the left wants gone.

I can agree in principle there, but amicability counts. Why not opt for someone personable & relatable with a strong background, and without questionable ethics? As the old adage goes, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Except North isn't vinegar, he's a fetid sack of criminal crap even a maggot wouldn't ally with.
