Umbrax's Comic Avatars

Guys. Just a note. A lot of artists do simply look the other way when it comes to using their art for Avatars, but others consider it theft.

I find it ironic that there's a link to this:

Where it warns against abuse of the copyright of this content, including "No Derivative Works. You may not alter, transform, or build upon this work."

Since.

That's what is being done here with these Avatars.

Personally I would like to think that the Comic book industry appreciates my avatars as they promote comic books. Really a lot of what I do on ATS is to spread the good word of comics. I love the medium and genuinely wish that my actions spark people's interest in comic books.

If you are aware of any artists that are upset about these avatars please have them contact me via the e-mail button below. I will gladly respect their wishes and trash the avatar. (Many of these artists are my 'heroes'. I would love the opportunity to talk with them.)

As for the irony you have found, it might be better suited in a message to the board admin via the gripe/idea button at the top of the page.

I'm a newer member. how the Hell do you insert an Avatar on here? I've got pics I want already, just don't know how to do it.

SpartanLeonidas, click the settings button at the top of the page from there click Edit Profile. Next scroll down until you see Avatar URL:. In the box enter the location of your avatar. For example my avatar is img.photobucket.com...

Be sure to read the Avatar and Signature Guidelines before setting up your avatar.

I understand all of that, My next question is...where do I get that URL from?

Is there somewhere I drag it out of, or do I use what you put & add My name to it? Sorry to sound a little dense, but this isn't like any other place I've uploaded pics & used them on.

Just one ask that she be dark haired and/or skinneded (lol) please. I will look and see what signatures I have from my old chatting days to see if there is one I like for U to use.

I will also try get what copyright info I can for using the actual characters, as I do think U need permissions for certain ones but I don't know much about it or how serious it is. I do know that alot of the women who make siggies and such for MSN groups are very strict on copyright rules and such. But I don't think U have anything to worry about honestly We won't tell if U won't

SpartanLeonidas, you need to upload your picture to a site like Photobucket or Image shack. You can also upload to ATS but I'm not sure if you (as a new member) are able too yet.
