We need contact quite soon but obviously it's on its way either way.
They can not help but only make things worse. The only thing that will heal the planet is humans realizing what they are, and understanding what they are doing isn't good. Once humans realize they are slightly alien, is when they think maybe i don't have the right to slaughter this dolphin.
Maybe when they deactivate their alien genes like i easily could (as it is easy to pin point and shut off as it's so different, the main component at the front that you're always tuned into more, and 98% of your animal body is deactivated) they will understand that when a lion strikes a gizelle, it's not out of hatred but it loves the gizelle and cares about it deeply and tries to comfort it as it is screaming out and dying, they actually care and love the gizelle.

But a alien human will see this and think it's ok for a human to do it. No it's not
When humans start to do these 2 things we can massively improve this planet. But evil alien entitlement has the treasures (animals) being destroyed and the garbage (aliens/alien humans) growing.

Humans display this trait constantly, it's due in part to survival. In the past, everything wanted to kill you.

The beings we call "extraterrestrial" (a misnomer by the way) are not as simple as we perceive. They run the gamut on source, from other star systems, dimensions, sub-realities, hyper-realities and believe it or not infinite places and non-places. When our limited awareness sees a being it is the tip of a reality iceberg. If you have such an experience you might be horrified as it unhinges everything you know and remember experiencing. You might feel a death in yourself as all your standards of existence are thrust into the dumpster. But many are not so negatively affected. There is a much more complex reality that we are allowed to perceive, but it keeps going beyond to..., You guessed it. Infinity.

I think it has a lot to do with Pride.

Finding out there are Others on the top of their own proverbial food chain would unnerve most people.

Plus, there are things out there that don't jive with the routine 9-5.

Most humans can't get along with other humans and throwing another host of Entities into the mix would trigger Xenophbia on a mass scale.

Everyone would begin to question everything, no work would get done, everyone would go mad and society as we know it would grind to a sudden halt as everyone tried to process exactly what the ___ was going on.

We humans , we are easily scared of the unknown ,and better yet things we cannot control
it is our ego that does this !

and yes advanced technology doesnt mean an advanced civilisation, they could still be completey barbarous and hellishly brutal and have no moral compass

We humans fear the unknown. Although I wouldn't say humans are afraid of Alien contact, we just want to know if they are there or not to put alot of minds at ease once and for all.
With so many distractions in life, most human beings would just shrug thier shoulders and carry on using Facebook.

The problem would arise when it's found out how governments have lied for many many years to it's people. Religion would also come into the spotlight.


Afraid of contact? No

Afraid of the unknown? yes

Has far i know and if you have a open mind, we humans fear alien or anything "paranormal" because it was imprinted in our genetic code long long long long time ago, thats why when people face something "alien" or "paranormal" fear pumps up and the body cant move, its a genetic responce to it, like a switch , now the interesting thing is when i say "was imprinted"......

Aliens do not use gadgets to make humans fear or get paralize , they use their gadgets for other stuff not for that. By they way aliens can make this fear or for the lack of better words paralazing less effective if they want to...

Yeah sounds creazy but its the truth..

Why do so many get off on the idea of alien contact?

Might have something to do with why so many fantasize about alien anal probes.

Ergo, that crowd probably has an interesting overlap with people into BDSM.

Hollywood.....how many kids grew up watching alien films where UFO'S would come to earth blasting away?

It seems to of got stopped although the 23rd september 2015 is a worry.
