Except for the accounts that claimed he was a pill pushing drunk.

So if we just go by accounts, Hillary is an evil murderous treasonous liar.

If we just want to go by "accounts".

We can say that about a lot of people. What they portray in public and how they act behind the scenes isn't what it always seems to be. Jackson's not a serial killer, but look how well John Wayne Gacey and Ted Bundy were considered upstanding citizens. You may think you know somebody, but there's always skeletons lurking in the closet.

If Trump made sure they vetted his picks as strict as he wants immigrants to be vetted, I'm sure he wouldn't have to continue draining his own swamp.

Anyone Trump picks is going to be a target.

Everyone who Trump picks, by the nature of partisan politics is going to be defamed, debased, dehumanized.

Well if Trump's picks were actually made of the "best" people, there would be nothing to use against them. Trump's picks are not being defamed, debased, dehumanized, the truth is being told about them, so why does that bother you more than what is coming out about these people.

Apologies.

Must have missed it, can you please show me proof.

Thanks in advance.

Trump himself does a fairly well job of defaming his own administration and the very people he hired.

Sloppy Steve, Lyin’ Ted, Sleepy-Eyed, Pocohauntus.... pot, meet kettle.

Trump and his supporters cheered on being anti-PC... my how much bull# that was.

*shrugs*

That's the nature of our current civil war.

Many CEO's have started and managed companies from nothing to the largest in the world, Facebook's Mark Zuckerburg is one example and he did it with zero experience and even dropped out of college. Doctor Jackson would have at least 8 years of higher education behind in addition to the military training he received. The VA is a big bloated bureaucracy but Doctor Jackson would be working with career professionals and his own knowledge and perspective so at least could do no more harm than the VA has already done to itself due to the "professional managers" they already have.

The worst thing about this is the alleged 24 people, anonymous sources that are telling these stories. I doubt someone who has worked with 3 presidents and undergone at least 3 FBI background checks could have buried all of these stories and believe me, the FBI talks to lots of people when they do background checks as I have been thru more than one myself.

Those concerns and stories would have surfaced but did not til now. You have a right to face an accusser or you're suppose too, but now days any unnamed source is enough to destroy a person's life and all in the name of politics, sad time for America.

He is a Doctor. I would think a Doctor would be a good choice as an administrator of a large hospital, in the past i dont believe any of the VA administrators have ever been s Doctor, just run of the mill Bureaucrats who have never performed very well.

Doctor Jackson is a Rear Admiral in the US Navy and is trained as are all military officers to lead large commands. He could just as easily be assigned Command of a large Naval hospital somewhere. His training qualified him for the position.

Actually. No. As has already been stated in this thread he doesn't have any command experience with is rank. There is a difference between a staff officer and a line officer. Just because someone has an officer rank doesn't mean they are a competent leader or have even led in the past. Don't make that assumption.

Its a shame that some individuals have become so polarized that they are willing to destroy a man who performed the job he was assigned and gave a report that they disagreed with and with petty revenge are now going off the rails. And where is Mr. Obama ? He should be defending the man he wanted promoted.

The only one who is destroying this man is himself. Have you not looked at the allegations against him? He was getting drunk on the job, wrecked a secret service vehicle, was handing out pills without prescriptions; and that is on TOP of his inexperience as an administrator.

What is a shame is people like you who just assume that because Trump nominated someone that he is a good choice.

These stories are rumors with no basis in fact, heresay from people that wont go public, like internet trolls only media trolls, hiding behind anonymity. Cowards they are. The whole fricking country has lost our minds

If they were hearsay then why did Jackson withdraw his nomination after the latest allegations against him came to light? Do you just have trouble believing bad news about people associated with the Trump admin?

That doesn't automatically mean that someone with no experience will do better though.

If you go to three different doctors to get a diagnosis but are misdiagnosed each time, on your fourth attempt do you go see a car mechanic?

It means that he probably wouldn't do much worse.

There is ALWAYS room for worse. Don't be naive.

No I don't have any problem with bad news about an individual chosen by Trump. What I do have a problem with is people like you who believe bad news without any evidence what so ever. Anonymous sources, people too cowardly to step forward and make an official complaint. Why do you think that is ?

The man has been in the current position for over 12 years yet no one ever stepped forward before about any of these stories. He went thru at least 3 background checks by FBI and Secret service yet they didn't uncover any of the stories. Why do you think that is ?

Trumps picks are just that, a choice. He doesn't know them but picks individuals based on performance and past evaluations , which in Jackson's case have been glowing not only by his military superiors but by the President himself as in Obama. Even if the stories are true, it's not a reflection on Trump, he depended on others to tell the truth in their evaluations.

As for over prescribing medicarions...most if not every physician in the country could be guilty of that charge. When I was deployed my first time, as we boarded the plane we were given a two day supply of Ambien by the first SGT who the Brigade Doctor gave them to him. I never saw the Doc and received a prescription for Ambien nor ever expressed trouble sleeping, they just passed them out like candy. We also have an Opiate prescription problem...people lie to Doctors all the time to get narcotics and most give in.

I can imagine, that a majority of the Obama administration was on drugs and lied to get them from the Doctor assigned to care for them and their famlies. Doctor Jackson can't talk about any prescriptions he provided due to HIPA but sure the dope heads in Obama's administration can hide behind a reporter's unnamed sources and tell all...just laughable. And we all know that the previous admin lied all the time and just based on some of the ideas they came up with, they had to be stoned out of their minds too.

Suppose to be able to face your accusser in this country, unless that is another freedom that progressives want to strip away from conservatives. Someone wants to make an actual complaint, they need to do so when an offense occurs not wait 8 years later after they get fired or lose an election to cry foul while still hiding like the cowards they are. Shameful direction our country is heading in and both sides are responsible

Yet at the end of the day Jackson rescinded his OWN nomination. He wasn't denied. He voluntarily took his name out of the running. That is a fact you can't deny. To me, that spells guilty conscious.

Lol. People like me? I haven't even written about this guy on ATS until he withdrew his nomination. This was my first thread on the man. Try again. You don't know me from Adam, so stay in your lane. Hell, if you'd bother to pull your head out of your ass for a second and stop judging me you'd see that I've already said that I wouldn't mind him staying as the WH physician in this very thread.

He's not a dem and cares about his family.

That's why he withdrew.

Would you put yourself or family thru the circus process that the confirmation hearongs have become ? Do me a favor and NEVER serve on a jury because you don't have a clue as to how it's suppose to work.

If someone goes to a reporter whispering allegations but too damn afraid to go public, then they ate simply cowards and not to be believed. You made assumptions about me and Trump is the only reason I used the words people like you. I don't know you and don't want too but have nothing against you and support any views you have, too bad you can't do the same.

And again, as for the prescription problems, I believe the Obama administration was high for the 8 years they had in office and they certainly know how to lie in order to get what they want so sure they would lie to a doctor to get narcotics, the only way they could sleep and function after all the damage they did

No, and my actively not seeking government employment means that I already don't want to go through # like that. Also, this has nothing to do with jury duty. Talk about an irrelevant point... Though I see you are still trying to pretend like you know me.

Hearsay and slander. This game is fun. I see why you are picking these low hanging fruits now. Next I'm supposed to insult your intelligence right? After all, nothing compliments a low hanging apple better than a classless attack on someone else's intelligence based solely on the fact that you have a difference of opinions. That's SOP these days.

PS: As long as you plan on insulting me I'm not going to take anything you say seriously.
PPS: This isn't the mudpit, dudebro.

That's all they gots.

It's ok, the VA can stay in hell instead of being fixed.

No biggie, been that way forever anyway.

Trump should kick it down the road like the last 8 prezs did.
