I grow weary of this term "human trafficking". When I see it I think that thing the Russian mafia does bringing hotties in from overseas and they work as slave laborers, their non-citizen status coupled with the reality they know of the cops being corrupt they dont dare step out of line.

The other day i followed a link about 470 or was it 474 "human trafficking" arrests. Words about a couple dozen youths, and a couple dozen adults, "INNOCENTS" "rescued".

Okay now those dozens there may well have been like the kind you'd imagine tied up in a basement or something.

But the thing is most of the rest of the words in the article were either about the classic scene of women cops out catwalking busting john's, and then other posing as children online to catch the real sicko solicitors.

There's this blurring of sex slave industry / pedo sickos online / everyday white or ghetto trash hookers and pimps / desperate johns just trying to get laid or some attention, in this "human trafficking" terms I'm noticing now that I've actually been looking at it.

And by the way prostitution is the oldest profession known to man.

It being outlawed has put 'hookers' into the realm of thieves, drug dealers and bad guys. So to me tallying up all these numbers as one in the same is disingenuous.

Kind of like the Backpage.com thing being hailed as if the thing was a centralized, organized thing, where all the hookers posting pages on there were all sex slave industry victims, and the people running the website were some sort of top down command & control organized pimping operation.

My impression of the modern trend, which started in craigslist and later refuged into backpage, is that for the first time hookers could go and market to their own clientele. They didnt have to be what Giuliani would call "broken windows" (standing out ont he corner making the entire area look like scumbag central). I can imagine ripple effects like more and more of these (mostly) women could operate without a pimp for that matter.

Now that its all shut down, those of you in major cities, watch and you're likely to see the hookers back out working the corners they had long been away from. Right out there with the crack and smack dealers. Again.
