There is a very interesting read here on Comey, Clapper and Brennan.

The reason we know James Clapper (DNI) and John Brennan (CIA), not James Comey, was the structured leak to CNN was specifically because CNN made a subtle mistake. On January 10th, 2017, CNN claimed the intelligence briefing included giving President Trump a two-page document:

[…] The two-page synopsis also included allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government, according to two national security officials. […]


CNN has confirmed that the synopsis was included in the documents that were presented to Mr. Trump (link) …However, we know from James Comey’s memo and his own statements about the briefing there were no documents provided. That means the two national security officials that were leaking details to CNN, and made the mistake about Comey giving Trump the documents, were John Brennan and James Clapper. As Michael Horowitz investigates the Comey memos, and their subsequent leaking to Daniel Richman, there’s a strong possibility this connection will be made by his investigative unit. Heck, if not, they just read it right here.

Congress can legally release classified things they believe are in the best interest of the American people. Comey...not so much, especially while “acting” as an FBI Director.

Through a process or by reading into the record. Not what happened with the Comey memos.

He has told Congress that he wrote them and authorized their release to the media “as a private citizen.” 

That is the dumbest defense imaginable. He's a lawyer. That cannot be his actual defense. I mean for press wriggling and PR, sure, but that's unimaginable that the head of the FBI charged with enforcement of our information dissemination would think for half a second that this was legal.

Imagine a scientist at a lab who releases classified information about a project he is working on to a friend with the intent of giving it to the press. Comey would let him go as long as he wrote down the information on the subway on his way home instead of providing copies of his work material/papers? Not a chance. The information itself is classified. Not just what comes out of his office typewriter/computer/email, etc.

That the head of the nation's counter-intelligence agency thinks this would at all be acceptable is comical.

I predicted this awhile back. McCabe had authorization to release information from Comey. He wasn't lying. Comey has been on a nonstop PR blitz since getting canned, but at least McCabe was smart enough to keep his mouth shut since they learned they were in hot water.

I do think for some reason McCabe is telling the truth, Comey knew.
Read earlier today that The FBI has not granted McCabe the right
to release his emails, they must be classified? Or property of the FBI?

The emails would be FBI property. Not sure if they'd be classified. It would depend on the content, probably.

McCabe is still screwed because he denied he leaked to begin with. So he's not getting his job back. But the statement awhile back where he made the claim he had authorization and Comey knew, I believe true. McCabe probably figures he knows he's caught for the lie, but he isn't going down for the leak or being the fall guy for the consp or the architect. Noone wants fo be stuck holding the bag after this mess.

Yeah, I am not a fan of his, but Comey has done much worse.
McCabe should do everything he can to see to it that others
who were involved get the treatment.

Hopefully, he comes to his senses and will cooperate
and maybe cut a deal if he divulges information on the
rest of the bunch.

Comey is a real lurch for calling him a liar out on the book circuit.

If what is reported is correct then yes that would be the case. I am glad you guys finally are starting to understand the law as it is written. Only took you guys 3 years and a whistle-blower to do it but hey better late then never.
