This happened maybe ten years ago, not more either.
Friend of friend of mine had painfull spine trouble so he tried everything, I want you to know absolutely everything, even operation with risk to became paralysed, and it didn't help either. So he somehow heard of that man, I never met the man, or heard of that man who heals with mental powers or something like that.
But here's what happened he wanted to tell me how it works, so he made circles above my rgiht palm, then he grabbed my other hand and made the same, and suddenly I felt heat on the first palm. I wasn't told what should I fell, but it worked.
I don't know if this is some kind of trick or really energy flow.
Opinions please, I am sceptic, but I felt the heat, intense heat, so if it was trick this shouldn't be so intense.

When I perform Reiki, my hands get extremely warm. There is a symbol that i make over my hands to get the Reiki to flow. It's no joke. A lot of people that i have performed a treatment on love the heat that permeates from my hands. You should look into Reiki.

I've always felt that it was a concentration of life energy. As with most concentrations of energy, there is heat. Because it's a concentration of the energy that sustains our bodies, minds, and souls, it has a healing effect.

On a related subject, heat can be felt from concentrations of other forms of natural energy as well, sometimes even resulting in an extremely rare, but real type of psychic ability called pyrokinesis (starting fires with the mind - see the film "Firestarter" for a Hollywoodized version of this ability). Anything is possible. Discipline and potential are the keys.

Alot of healers, generate HEAT from the hands when working on healing. It is an exchange of energy......they're energy flows into you to help facilitate the healing to be done.
I have experianced this from a few people. Even from a mediation circle a person hands can HEAT up.
The hottest hands I ever felt was from a phychic healer......he would heat up a coin that was made the year of your birth. He asked that you bring such a coin. He would heat up his hands and put them on your chakra points, then he would hold this coin and concentrate on it, then hand it to you while it was VERY hot. He said to keep this coin on your person, so that you would have ready access to the healing power even when away from him. I don't think I put very much stock in the whole COIN idea, but it IS a decent example of HOT HANDS......so that is why I related that experiance here.
My hands will heat up when I am giving a massage sometimes, when I am 'feeling' alot of love and caring.
The REIKI people learn to do this, so read up on rieki as previously suggested. You can learn for yourself where this comes from.

The ~ HEAT~ is simply a transfer of energy. It is not witchcraft or a phychic spell or anykind. I think all humans have this innate ability. Some are just better at it than others, like any gift or talent.

I'm sorry, I can't tell you what the symbol is. My master passed the symbol on to me, and I can only pass it on to my students. If you want to learn more about Reiki, I suggest using the link in the previous post. What you could also do is pick up a copy of "Essential Reiki" by Diane Stein. Most Reiki masters, mine included, will not publish the Reiki symbols; However, Ms. Stein does. I would like to mentin that there are people out there who don't practice Reiki, but they have warm hands.

When I first got attuned to Reiki, I made a promise not to share the Reiki symbols out of tradition. It's a tradition thats been going on since Master Usui started to teach Reiki. I provided Deimos with a way of finding out what the symbol is. Now in the book the author states that she published the symbols because she feels that they should be taught to as many people as possible. She also goes on to say that without the attunement/s the symbols are useless. Which I agree. I also agree that Reiki should be taught to as many people as possible. With that said though, I have to stick to my promise and to tradition, I won't teach the symbols to someone who is not a student of mine.

ok.. what I'm going to say is not meant to insult any ones believes or skills, keep this in mind.
As far as Reiki goes, and symbols, healing, ect. there is no right OR wrong way, symbols, guide lines, ect are set as a structure. This is because we are not mentally strong enough to just access our energy's, such as healing, so over time people have learned to set personal guildlines to help along the way of power, what I mean is that not just any specific symbol, color, light, ect will be the same to another person. This is what I believe, these reiki symbols work for many people, becuse they believe.. thats the key, "believing", if you believe that these symbols are your keys to super natual abilities, to your power/energy, then that is what will work for you. If you truely believe it will happen. Keep in mind, like any skill (mental or phsyical), takes to to learn.

That’s what i think to. I think these abilities are achievable in the ways that suit you, it may be in ways that have not been written about, but often as i have found, turn out to be similar methods as written ones. I think of myself as a freelance in psychic abilities, i like to experiment with an ability that has naturally expressed itself within me or take the basic idea of something, and go about it using whatever feels right to me, but belief is certainly a key point along with meditation and focus. I don’t doubt in the slightest other people’s methods either.

I very much believe in healers i seen it for myself and seen the patient get better. Eventually the patient did die but it would have truly been a miracle if the healer had cured them completely, lets just say they helped them live that little bit longer which baffled the doctors. Of course alternatively it could have been everything to do with the patients belief and will to live. It may have been the two combined

Something i have been thinking about is the ability to heal yourself by using the tiny micro organisms which live in and on our bodies to heal the affected area, by simply commanding them to heal. The micro organisms are designed to do this, but by acknowledging it may improve results.

I agree with what is said here, every living man here on Earth has the ability to heal and all you have to do is to ask your cells to heal, some diet can help, tea made of herbs, too.
Isn't that amazing? There are millions of examples, I am sure. Me personally never met "real" healer in a way mentioned above, but I was told by my friends and they haven't reason to lie of some "not by the law of physics energy and phenomena", this is exact definition we must use here, I am not sure that any theory of scientific aproach can back what I have heard from people.
I think (if it wasn't a trick, but I will repeat what I have stated I didn't know what to expect, I wasn't prepared so now when someone read this he will expect heat to feel, but it was intense heat even to the pain limit, that hot) there is some kind of energy flow which was released in the cicular moves.
It can be my friend draw symbol over my palm I am not sure exactly what he have done. I think symbols are just for concentration, not a must.
This is energy transfer definitely. Is this heat measurable by instruments???
Or it is just energy impact on the nerves of the hand? It can produce intense heat feeling, too.

I have always had warm palms. When I practiced massage therapy, the vigorous movements of the hands made them warmer. When I offered clients therapeutic touch healing, my hands became very warm and they could feel the heat, even though I didn't touch them during the healing sessions. As a healer, my hands sometimes grow warmer just thinking about someone needing to be healed.

I agree. In Reiki there is an on going debate about what are the right symbols because there is a variety of ways of drawing these symbols; however, all the master agree that it's the intention behind the healing, and not the symbol alone, that makes it work.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else experience heat in their feet?

I'm a bit confused at this thread. Heat has always been associated with healing, especially laying hands. Most that do healing, or interested in healing, know this.....
As obsidian stated, energy is used in healing, which usually resluts in heat.

I agree with LadyV really,
when energy courses through your body it creates heat too. It would only make sense that heat would be made when dealing with large amounts of spiritual energy you could say. Like friction in a way. I think when I heal my body(during meditation, when it needs healing), it becomes warmer and more comfortable.

Seeking Nirvana, where/how did you find your reiki teacher? I'd like to find someone to help me learn more where i live, but i don't know anyone.
Best wishes,
Dani

I believe the heat that people feel when healing or being healed is a sensation, a indication, there are many sensations when it comes to any type of energy, but it is hard for people to feel it, sense it, our minds, and bodies are not tuned to the complete sensations of energy. but the most common sensation is heat, warmth, if you think about it, what is it that most people do when they hurt them selves, they put on a heat pad, warm towel or clothe, or a cold pad, hot and cold, the most common sensation when trying to make your self better.

My method of healing differs from yours differs from everyone else's. Some people use Reiki, which relys on symbols to tap into that energy. Others, such as myself, tap into the energy through will alone. The essence of the process is the same, but the means differs wildly. Different strokes for different folks... such is the way in most metaphysical practices.

I do not use Reiki.....to be completely honest with you, I do it, it's from within, but I have no idea where it comes from....a gift I suppose? My mother did, as did my granddmother nad great grandmother....
