Is it me or does anybody else feel that they just have to escape, every now and then?

Coming here every day helps me cope better with the "real" world (what ever that is?) I can escape from the "norm" of every day things!

This is my little world in here, nobody else comes here that knows me outside of this place, its like another home to me now (getting to be 1st as well) I'd rather be here than in reality!

God now I sound sad, lonely and all that stuff, shoot me someone?

just one of those days!

After my initial addiction passes and my regular sanity break/vacation is over, I will be escaping from here, then joining you in escapes back to here.

But how are you sure that no-one who knows you comes here????

Escapism is good harmless fun, as long as what you are escaping from is boring routine and work-a-day stress, not mortal danger.

A good book. A romance movie. A holiday. A website full of paranoid delusional miscreants.

Hmmm pick the odd one out.

What are you escaping, Pocket?

Many times I just want to go bezerk and lift off the ground and explode. I dream of rocketing into the sky and making my energy known to all those that see my person. Sometimes I actually feel like blowing myself up. However I know that is not what I want and what I want is just bliss and unity of my being with this world. That is why I feel the need to explode. So I can be spread and known. That is why our brethren fall into the traps of suicide bomber jackets in Palestine. They want to be heard and they want to be learned. However they go about it in the wrong way.

In the past before I learned the real horror of Israel I would get these urges to escape to Israel and cut off all contact with those I know. I wanted to do this to not only to get away, but to be with my brothers and sisters. I pray for their souls and I wish them well. However I fear the place they know and I dare not ever go there. Even though I wish I could.

Escaping is not possible in this world. To escape one would have to leave this world. One would have to go into space or into some unknown reality. If not one would have to die. Then again that is to say that if we die that we automatically escape this world.

Certainly is a little escape... Helps me cope with the workday....and I can talk about things here, that don't really interest most of my "offline" friends. (They're great people, but kind of still have the blinders on, so to speak)...

heck yeah. I'm a master escapist...somehow the everyday grind really doesn't hold my attention very well.

I don't really know if coming here is a form of escapism for me..but it's certainly a way for me to talk or type about things I don't get the chance to do in my physical life or *face to face*..I do think of ATS as a sort of sanctuary..a place to free my mind of the things I cannot express to others with words from my mouth.

About your question..yes everyone needs a little time in our lives to just escape some of the daily things we endure. I don't think I would ever want to escape from humanity completely..but having a 10 minute break all to myself each day is something I consider my escape. Even if it's while in the shower or just relaxing without outside sounds or indoor sounds. This also helps me to maintain *myself* a way so you don't get lost in all the hussle and bussle of life, even things that we love and people that we love, we need to escape from sometimes..this is normal to me.

To me ATS is not a place where I can escape the world. In fact if anything it is a place where I can tackle the world.

I totally agree with you, its more like a sanctuary coming here every day, even letting off steam!
