Justice Department officials on Wednesday provided House Intelligence panel members a fuller view of a highly classified intelligence document that may have kicked off the FBI’s investigation of contacts between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Russian operatives
“Although the subpoenas issued by this committee in August 2017 remain in effect, I’d like to thank Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein for his cooperation today,” Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes said in a statement Wednesday.
Despite Rosenstein making the minimally redacted version of the memo available, the government source said committee Republicans remained concerned about the memo’s underlying intelligence and the credibility of the sources which would require further investigation. A Justice Department official told Fox News that the memo's redactions had been "narrowly tailored to protect the name of a foreign country and the name of a foreign agent... These words must remain redacted after determining that revealing the words could harm the national security of the American people by undermining the trust we have with this foreign nation."

Given the history of the democratic leadership doing exactly what they claim everyone else (including publicans) should not be doing, this would come as no surprise.
If Strzok has as most of the influence over the warrant as what is implied, then given his history and antics, I'm doubting it will hold up.
Nunes said Wednesday he was appreciative for the deputy attorney general’s assistance — but would continue to investigate the investigation.
I don't see where that is stated. It says only that the name of a country and the the name of a foreign agent were redacted, not that the warrant was based on either one.
Also reported is that as previously suspected, this document was based on information from a foreign country and involves a foreign agent.
So, you think this document is based on the dossier? You don't think it's about Papadopoulos?
I can only think of one....Christopher Steele and the UK! And it has been proven through depositions that his information came directly from Russia!
Nunes has been furious with the agencies over attempts to obtain the two-page document that the FBI used to initiate its investigation of the Trump campaign’s Russia contacts. That document, which The New York Times reported on in December, revealed that the inquiry was launched because of an intelligence tip that George Papadopoulos, a campaign foreign policy aide, had revealed to an Australian diplomat indicating that Russia had obtained negative material about Hillary Clinton.

The details will finally be out. Better hang on, the rides going to get bumpy for one side of this story.
The FBI opened its investigation on July 31, 2016, reportedly based on information passed to the bureau by the Australian government about George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign adviser. Papadopoulos claimed in May 2016 to have information that Russia possessed stolen Hillary Clinton emails, Australia’s ambassador to the U.S. reportedly told his American counterparts. Papadopoulos allegedly made the claim during a conversation in London with Alexander Downer, Australia’s top diplomat to United Kingdom.

According to a Justice Department official, the remaining redactions in the document are "narrowly tailored to protect the name of a foreign country and the name of a foreign agent." Specifics have been replaced with identifiers like "foreign official" and "foreign government," the official said.
Does it say the information originated from the redacted country?
It could be Australia, and Carter Page.
An agent of the Trump campaign, yes. But not a foreign agent, so I suppose his name was not redacted.
Is Pappadapolous an Agent?
Even though it was based on Papadopoulos blabbing about Russians having dirt on Clinton?
Either way, if it is Australia and Downer that is almost worse for the Clintons, as it goes right back to the donations Downer made to The Clinton Foundation.
Of what? Papadopoulus already pleaded guilty.
There should be an FBI raid tomorrow morning....

So, it has nothing to do with a drunken Papadopoulus. Ok.
This may be interesting then. As the president says, "We'll see what happens."
You are assuming the redacted agent is an agent of the redacted country? What else are you assuming? The date of the document?
I am just wondering if it is Australia, who the agent is?

Electronic document, maybe not so easy. In any case, whether or not we'll see it is an open question.

Actually, that document was first asked for by (then) committee chairman Trey Gowdy, in November 2016. Obama's DOJ told him to "Drop Dead".
It's understandable why Trey Gowdy accompanied Devin Nunes to Rosenstein's office today. I bet their meeting was "lively".
