back when syria first gassed people over peaceful protests demanding assad to step down we should have firmly stepped in and forced him to resign and dragged him and his supporters before the ICC and had them tried for their crimes.

I'll wait to see how it plays out, but I can become a non-Trump supporter faster than I became a Trump supporter.

It's true that if we leave Syria, we leave it to Russia and strengthen Iran, however this empire building and foreign policy we've been pursuing isn't my personal conception of Making America Great Again.

Agreed. I can't help but think neither Trump, nor Obama, nor Bush etc have had any control over foreign policy whatsoever.

This really makes no logical sense at all. The timing is just ridiculous.

Syria did not gas the protests.

There's ample video evidence online that the protestors were not peaceful including a confession from the former Prime Minister of Qatar stating that Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the U.S. took a leading role in arming, training and funding the insurgency from the outset of the conflict.

Like some have said, this seems just too #ing obvious. One way to lose my support as President is starting unnecessary wars. You keep saying you want to worry about protecting OUR borders then put your money where you mouth is. Also, why you so sick about chemical attacks in Syria when the people of the US are chemically attacked every damn day. The hypocrisy of our gov't is what is making me irritated.

Against who?

Funny how every time the USA says its going to withdraw from Syria a attack conveniently "happens".

Why the hell would Assad use gas when he is winning now by conventional means and the USA is talking about withdrawing from his country? Why bring a # ton of bricks on your head for no reason ?

Someone is playing the USA like a fiddle.

How can anyone be opposed to invading Syria???

Because every time the USA gets involved it ALWAYS makes the situation worse.

The only thing the USA can do is break # and Syria already broken.

I don’t care about Russia or Syrian or ISIL forces...we will annihilate them within a month and occupy any and all of Arabia in perpetuity...

The USA could not even occupy Iraq or Afghanistan properly. How is it going to occupy the entire middle east?

Not to mention they don't want your American Freedumb or Dumborcracy.

Apples to oranges.

Japan was a entirely different to the Middle east.

For a start they did not go full death cult retard until the 1930's when fascism took hold. Before that between the 1870- 1930 they where pretty reasonable to deal with and no different to the UK really as far as imperial ambition went, IE slightly douchy but not exactly evil incarcerate.

Someone explain the logic for me:

Assad etc wants USA out of Syria. RIGHT???

So Trump announces last week USA pulling out of Syria.

Then a handful of days later Assad attacks his own people to prompt USA to stay. WHY? WHY?? WHY???

Did Assad suddenly run out of conventional munitions and had to resort to chemical bathtub concoction BS to get the job done? And the job again, oh, kids wasnt it? What other purpose to attack kids with chems other than to prompt Trump to stick around?

So again, WHY THE F would Assad actually go an do it? What purpose would it serve besides keep USA in Syria?? Why would Assad want to keep USA in Syria???

Exactly.

This makes zero sense.

it only became violent after assad started using force to silence their protests but i'm not arguing about that, what i'm saying is that when gas was used we should have been more decisive, we waited too long to do anything and that destabilized the situation, if we used a firm hand it would have ended quickly.

we should stop using a soft hand in the shadows and be more decisive and forceful when taking down enemy governments, we need to stop treating weak nations like an equal that can actually threaten us. if your'e an empire then act like it and end conflicts decisively and quickly.

Yeah, like they easily did in Iraq.

So you want another 10-year war with another million people killed.

A new ISIS, another 60 thousand or more Americans killed and all the mess that the Iraq war did and more

in simple terms, it doesn't matter who gassed who or who was violent first, his government should have been removed to stabilize syria regardless of anything to calm the people down.

no, in iraq we were not decisive at all and refused to establish civil order, we just occupied without a plan or any real goals in mind.

decisiveness isn't about force alone but achieving a stated goal within a stated timeframe.

This operation, likely backed by Trump (so he could get the MSM off his investigation) and the new CIA chief and Bolton the crazy Neocon, is a very sinister and terrible False Flag, that proves the word is in deep peril.

This can cause anything from nothing to a war with Russia or another Trump flinging missiles to Syria.

The Zionist MSM will then like Trump again for a second. Its chaos reigning.

Ok, but the problem is the timing. Did this event even happen at all?? I'm highly suspicious, and so should everyone be, given the fact we've seen this before. But the timing! Geeeze.

As crazy as the war in Syria is, with many factions here and there, you want America to get involved with that?!
Not to mention the Turks, Kurds, Russians, and Iran.
The US wasn’t even that stupid to get that involved, that’s why they created and used proxies.

Typical! Blaming Vladimir Poutine with no proof!

I can be opposed to invading another country, Syria or anywhere else, thanks.
How can you or anyone else possibly know it was the Syrian govt. who launched this attack?
Your standard of evidence before you commit hundreds of thousands to their deaths is scarily low.

Woot, it's so good to see people here turning around and seeing this whole fiasco for what it is - a con! The puppet in chief is no different than any other puppet we've had in office except many people were fooled that the rich man was out to protect them this time. So silly, right? And so obvious, it's still a shock to me it's taking this long for the diehards to wake up.
