Protesters at one point came face to face with officers clad in riot gear and began chanting "Stephon Clark." "It is indoctrinated into their bloodstream to fear us," said Rev. Brian Levingston, who was among the unofficial organizers of the protest. "But today we stand right now to tell you we are human beings and the United States of America -- this is our country."

Things got pretty heated last nite.

It has been non stop and nows everyone with jobs are off work and the size is likely to grow.

From what i gathered police ran into someones back yard and were afraid of the cell phone he was holding while they responded to a call of someone in the neighborhood breaking into cars.

Just a man hanging out in his own backyard from what i gathered.

If true they killed an unarmed man in his own back yard, I hope the people raising hell burn down the city hall, burn down the courthouse, and burn down the police station instead of looting and burning down their own damn community.

It's the politicians/lawyers and judicial system that covers for these corrupt/poorly trained LEO's and as long as those choosing to raise hell destroy their own this nonsense will continue.

We are living in a state of Anarcho Tyranny! When the system covers for criminals while prosecuting and taking away more and more rights of the citizenship trying to obey the gazillions of BS laws........

Footage showed a man running from a neighbors yard to his grandmothers yard.

As he approached, he had an object in his hand. Police said he was armed with a gun, then a toolbar, now a cellphone.

They riddled him with 20 bullets.

He leaves behind TWO CHILDREN, a ONE year old and THREE year old.

Both cops are on paid admin leave.

they just do not take a moment anymore to verify before they shoot

we let them get away with this mess

why even chase someone like this in the dark anyhow

not much thinking and reasoning going on in the leo's heads anymore just reactions -thoughts

Or, at the very least, raise hell in the more affluent neighborhoods instead of their own.

It worked with opioids. Wasn't such a big deal when it was just impoverished minorities dying on the street from heroin but, as soon as it became a white middle-class epidemic, it became a national priority.

Get the middle and upper classes (as a whole) to care, and changes will happen.

ps edit - I mean all of this as a general statement. I don't claim to know if this particular incident was justified or if the blame should be shared; I'm just saying that problems plaguing minority communities normally aren't a priority until they are also plaguing upper-class communities.

So terrorize other innocent peoples neighborhoods? Wouldn’t be a good idea in my state with our castle laws. Might work in backward ass Cali though.

Have the police released a video? Have the officers been found not guilty?

Other people’s neighborhoods? How is this their fault? That is worse bull# than this shooting.

Get the cops to start randomly killing the white middle and upper income people and changes will happen!

Until then, nothing changes!

Isn't California one of the states that invites lawlessness?

I don't think that's worse BS. Who do you think the cops work for anyway? Their whole reason for being is to protect the white middle and upper income people and their business and corporate interests. Why else would the cops even be in or around the low income areas? You didn't learn anything from Ferguson?

Apparently the "establishment" didn't learn anything from Ferguson. If it had, these cops wouldn't have even been in the area!

OH Im sorry sir... can you stop running and let me see the black thing in your hand thats the same size as some handguns oh and please DONT whip back around to face me so i can shoot you because i only have a split second to make a life or death decision.

You do realize that If it was a gun and they hesitated they would had been dead right? Criminals dont stop and let you check the situation.

Because crime is exponentially worse in low income areas compared to the middle class areas. Plus I don’t know one cop that works for me because I make a decent living. Hell why did I just pay my speeding ticket if they work for me?

how about a little thought before we go chasing some black petty thief into the darkness...

like this guy perhaps is not gonna be worth all the paper work and lawyers and such...

really any type of prethought would be a step up.

you do realize that they made no determination as to what the object was..

you do realize that in the usa we are innocent until proven guilty.

not shot until proven innocent

not shot until proven innocent

not shot until proven innocent

I don't know if you were being sarcastic but you know it's true. I'm not saying that causing pandemic violence is a solution; I'm just saying that, if problems that exist in minority communities happened to affluent majorities, it would be addressed by the president.
