Anyone playing Elite Dangerous on the PS4?

It's a truly beautiful game, with a zillion controls all mapped to the PS4 controller. Hell, it took me two hours just to figure out how to land my spaceship at a dock!

I stopped playing for about 6 months, as things got a tiny bit stale. Many love the exploration aspect of it.... honestly, to get from one side of the universe to another can actually take a month or longer of game play.... Also, it has great missions... combat... trade.... tourism.... transport.


I saw some recent videos which show what looks like being able to go into combat with a capitol ship (think Star Destroyer or a Mon Amari cruiser, while you're in a much smaller craft like an X-Wing or Tie - Fighter).... and it looked like a blast....

Is this the case? Anyone out there interested in teaming up?


For some reason, my custom controller mapping has gone bye-bye..... and it'll take forever to get it mapped again, and learn how to fly the damned ships..... but it is a cool game

I'm playing on PC with a HOTAS.

David Braben is indeed the developer of Elite Dangerous and also (one of) the founders responsible for the Raspberry Pi.

I'd say it would be my Python. If I remember correctly, total after customizations, ran me a little over 100 million.

Nice, I'm still doing cargo runs in my Type 5....got bored though and have stopped playing. I'm taking some leave though so maybe will pick it back up.

I need to remap my controls, I seem to really suck at any sort of combat on Xbox One, fine on PC though....specifically because on PC I can cut my engines, spin my ship around and start firing at the enemy on my six.

Worst part is, I couldn't find the option to cut engines, just power down the entire craft...which is useless.

We are the largest wings on xb1. Our sister group on PC is Gal Corp.
We deal with Will from Frontier Development daily.
He is an active member in our Discord group.
He listens to our requests/moaning and whining lol.

Our exploration group is currently on a DERP mission expanding over 120k ly.
Scanning for new Guardian installations.

I'm really enjoying the new 3.0 update.
using my Asp Ex. For exploration with at 60 ly jump.
I have a FDL for combat
And of course a chieftain for messing around in

Combat ain't cheap!
Now it's a massive grind for guardian tech.

One thing I was missing was any sort on multiplayer when I played....

I play on X1 too, I'm in the AU timezone.....do you have a strong AU TZ presence? If so....can I join?

You will have to wing up with one of our OTO's.
They basically just make sure your the type of person we want in the wing.
It's better that way, because we all joke around, and bug each other.
But we do have rules.
We have a Navy wing, exploration wing, Logistics,pirates, combat...
There's something for everyone.

Playing on Xbox one though. Only bought the core version when it was on sale for like $12. Not sure if the expansions are worth the $$
Currently piloting an Asp explorer doing salvage missions, pirate hunting, and passenger missions when they are millions of CR but dont require more than a few thousand light years travel.
Probably my favorite space sim since independence war 2: edge of chaos
