Very interesting film. Great film, in fact. BUT in today's world, it all depends on the authenticity of it, since it is so easy to doctor such films.

There have been very near flybys by these things over the years.
One of these days there's going to be a catastrophic collision.

Agreed. And you'd think someone in the cockpit would have pulled out their phone and gotten video.

It just looks like two planes at different altitudes to me, that would also explain the contrails and the speed difference.

It doesn't need to be doctored. It could be an authentic video that still has a mundane explanation....

That is to say, it could be a video of two jets (maybe two passenger jets) that are a distance away from each other, but look side-by-side due to the specific point of view of the camera.

You mean perfectly normal and routine airliners on an established upper air route. The guy could sit on his porch and on bright sunny days could film to his hearts content. He is using a camera phone to record such activity and has past footage of airliners that made it to the news agencies. He is probably chuckling away to himself on his porch after receiving the money for the use of his footage.

He already has two different videos on the net with the exact same times and dates so in all honesty none of his footage is reliable. If we take his 21st April 2016 during 7 pm timeline you can see paired airliners with lower airliners undertaking other airliners at higher altitude.

For example during the 7 pm hours there is the following.

The yellow star is his filming location in Lincoln, NH. The two airliners in the top right have just passed his location using the upper air route. The playback from Planefinder shows the airliner on the left at a lower altitude and over taking the airliner pictured on the right. In this case both airliners are in the 30,000 feet range. Now all it takes is something similar with perhaps only a couple of thousand feet vertical separation. Factor in the poor quality camera phone and you have footage that you can deceive people with.

Very true. Often from a certain perspective, prosaic events can look like UFOs.

The problem is, if the lead plane was a passenger jet, a passenger jet cruises at around 550 MPH. The object following is only going slightly faster, hence the time it takes to catch the lead jet up.
Conclusion. It was another jet on the same flight path but higher or lower. Or it was a geriatric alien that hadn't put the pedal to the metal. Your choice.

The fact that one had a contrail and the other didn't, does seem to imply different heights. Perhaps it was a pilot practicing at shadowing another jet? Just too much not known here. But, these days, it's just so easy to fake, so hard to just accept any of it.

I'm going to get into serious trouble if my superiors at our Orion base find out I was chasing a crude jet plane, wasting the precious element 115 on a wild goose chase for the hell of it instead of scaring some random dude at Cisco Grove or trolling Rendlesham RAF again....good times. Reprogramming nukes at Malmstrom was even better....or accidentally bumping into some American submarine in 60s.

Seriously though, it's a UFO. Meaning UNIDENTIFIED not necessarily extraterrestial. Probably a plane or some black project accidentally caught along with civilian jet. Or maybe, just maybe it's a genuine alien craft. Fun fact: there is some evidence that alien ships could mimic earthly planes in appearance or stay invisible to the spectrum human eye operates at, so no visible saucer =/= no saucer at all

However, despite the argument of upper and lower levels etc, has anyone taken notice of the different shape? One looks like an aircraft the other.....Hmmmmm not so much.

If the planes are at different altitudes, they don't even have to be going different speeds for the lower plane to appear to overtake the higher plane, that can happen just from perspective even if the planes are traveling at the same speed.

military does not have this kind of tech. at least not publicly.

I’m with the other people saying escort jet.
Passenger plane, maybe dignitaries of some sort, w/ military escort.

My thoughts exactly

There would be a contrail and it would fly directly starboard or port. And escort would never overtake the other mid flight, get behind, or fly that close, to them.

One thing seems certain. The video is NOT edited to add that object in after the fact.

Also, the object could be flying HIGHER than the jet, but on the same trajectory. That could explain why it's leaving no exhaust trail.

If the object IS at the same flight level as the jet...oh boy... we've got an honest-to-goodness ALIEN (Non-Earth or Earthly Time Traveler) on our hands!

IGNORE what I said about the UFO possibly flying higher than the jet. Upon re-inspection, I see that it is INTERACTING with the contrail. WOW!
