There was no official confirmation of victims, but NBC Washington reported several injuries.

Great Mills High School is located about 60 miles southeast of Washington DC in St.Mary's county, and is home to some 1,600 students.

It comes just four days before the national March for Our Lives, a rally for student safety which was organized after last month's massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

Standby for more info as it comes to light. This is getting insane - serial bombers and school shootings all at the same time. You're under attack, clearly.

I hope that there are no casualties - I can't imagine what the parents must be going through.

Just heard about it myself...couldn't find any info at this point.

Seems like a once a month thing...school shootings that is. Hope no one was injured.

what's the point of school kids obviously learn nothing and their life expectancy drops just by attending

Saying the event is contained implies all clear?
Hopefully no casualties or worse fatalities, again.
Under attack from within it seems, destined to self destruct almost.

That's really close to DC. Will be following this story closely.. hopefully the situation is contained and our society can begin finding real solutions to these types of situations.

The answer isn't always loose gun laws, or bullies, but mental health must always be a factor. And we should look at ALL possible factors that are contributing to these incidents (including Social Media, Mainstream Media Coverage, and yes, regulations)

are you trolling or being serious? Kids are more likely to get killed driving and texting then getting shot at a school. Hanging out with friends and ODing is also more likely to get kids killed then getting shot at school.

My Nephews went to that school. I'll second the motion that you are in more danger in a car than in a school.

Exactly, why are schools not putting metal detectors in yet? It is rediculous!! Just like going into a courthouse, you should have to go thought security. How hard is this to implement? How many more will have to die, before such a simple solution be put in place? Certainly it would at least be a deterant.

A kid should not have to go to school, and wonder if he is going to be shot! The car comparison is not even close to the same.

Sure they are more likely to die texting and driving, but how hard is it for you to understand kids are going to school, and being MURDERED....and your comparing that to texting and driving.

Im not much of a conspiracy guy, but here we are having more and more frequent things pushing this agenda.

They say they want to save kids, but why arent we talking real solutions to stop shooters? Simple and cheap things like:

I thought we wanted to save kids? Why arent we taking the most common sense, cheapest and most IMMEDIATE measures we could implement TOMORROW to do so?

We arent doing these simple things , were just talking about taking guns, and youre telling me theres no agenda here?

The simple devices above keep a shooter locked in a room or in a hallway with no way to get into a room full of kids, and at the mercy of whatever armed professional is around.

Why, WHY arent these being MANDATED to be had in school like OSHA mandates safety measures for construction sites?

Why? because its not about the kids for the left, its about the damn AGENDA

It's beginning to look like all this stuff is some covert plan at the second amendment. Perhaps Soros fueled. It's like once or twice a week thing now.

I made that statement in another thread and was quickly shot down that shooters will get in somehow, a window or another opening of some sort. This may be true but I wanted to discuss some remedies anyway. Our local school was to have a meeting Friday regarding safety and future safety measures. It was cancelled and rescheduled for last night and was cancelled again due to the possibility of inclement weather. It is rescheduled for April 3.
I suppose the mindset is 'what's another week or two?', 'It's not as if it can happen here.'.

I'm sure it comes down to cost and efficiency. The machines plus guards to monitor them.
