What's up with ATS today? My browser is being bombarded by pop-ups and redirects every few seconds. Had to type this three times - keep getting bounced off to spam websites.

I'm viewing on a tablet. I'm used to the embedded ads but this is crazy. Only seeing it on ATS - no other sites.

I'm having the same problem. A little box keeps popping up at the bottom saying 4 pop ups blocked then 7 pop ups blocked goes all the way up to 25. If I push the x to close the box takes me to a spam site that says I'm an Amazon winner

I can't imagine what cookies would have to do with it.

I just installed Firefox Focus which seems to keep all the crap out.
ATS developers need to deal with this though.

If it was a code problem it would affect everybody. It's probably related to some ad(s), as those are targeted to the user, so different people see different ads.

Do you see any specific ad(s)?

I only watch porn on my iMac but never have the issue described in he op. When I get on my mobile device...no porn I get a ton of pop ups making ATS unusable. So I think your assessment is wrong.

Never!

Anyways that's not totally true. It isn't (always) evil porn sites. It's any shady weirdo website. I'm leery of clicking a lot of the weirdo links members post around here...you never know what you're going to get.

Check your browser history list, you might have picked up a hijacker somewhere else.
I clicked on a ransomware spoof at rolledsteelcuts.com, scared me enough to shutdown and do a Windows registry rollback.

[SNIPPED]

ATS is most stable on my Windows-10 Desktop with the EDGE or FIREFOX browser and NO Ads, Cookies, or Pop-ups blocked. In other words the forum is given full authority to do whatever it wants.

The posting to large threads is horribly slow, but everything else is smooth and annoyance-free.

I have been having this problem for several months....it comes and goes. I have factory reset my s6 edge, nothing installed, still happened. Have an s7 edge, not activated, brand new, turn on wifi sign in to ats, same thing.
Im a bit of a pc geek, i really know my way around a pc, phone, tablet. I think armap may be onto something, it could be a specific ad that not everyone gets, that whacks out or is intentionally doing it.

I will have only ats open, and reading a long post, use my finger to scroll down, and bam, im an instant amazon winner. Have to hit the back button 3 times to get back to the page i was reading.

But, it wont prevent me coming to ats lol, i love it too much! Ill put up with the annoying crap, i know its not an issue on my hardware, so nothing i can do.

Also, there was a post a week or 2 ago about this, they said they would look into it, and it is def happening less than it did. So they must have found something.

I only get the pop ups when not signed in.

Maybe you keep getting signed out somehow?

Yes.

With Russian Propaganda Bots.

And Chinese Spybots.

And CIA Spookbots.

Careful what you drink and don't have a "Russian Heart Attack".

Your computer or phone must have caught some virus. Make sure to wash your hands with a disinfectant before touching it to keep it virus free.
