Are ATS search results Unreadable For Other Members?

I'm wondering why the results returned when I do a search here on ATS are whited out and have a font color that is barely legible?

I have my account set to the dark theme but no matter what device I use the result for search come back completely whited out and barely legible.

Do I have to adjust some setting?

Is any one else experiencing a similar problem with ATS search results?

I know it use to not look like this and being unable search for subjects on here is quite frustrating.

Yes, have seen the same. Have to highlight the text to read it.

It's like that for me too. The search engine sucks anyway. Just use google, and put "site:abovetopsecret.com" before your search terms.

For example if I wanted to search for a thread about President Trump, I would put this in google:

site:abovetopsecret.com donald trump

I gave up on that and just use this instead:

To search a single website.

1. Type “site:” into the Google search bar.

2. Type the name of the website you want to search, but remove the “http://” and the “www.” Make sure you include the full name, including the .com or .edu. or .org.

3. Type the search term you are looking for.

Same here.
Can't be bothered to try the search anymore.
Been that way for around a year for me.
Just never bothered to mention it.

Ok interesting that other people are experiencing it as well.

I would think that is something that whoever maintains the site might want to work on.

Also thanks to the posters above who showed a google search work around.


Searching old thread topics is one of the few things that keeps me still interested in ATS because most of what's currently posted is mostly political vomit.

If that feature is messed up then I'm really finding it hard to find much value in the current state of ATS.

Just my two cents......and thanks once again for the work around because there is some gold in the archives of this site.

It's like that for me as well. I don't even both with search any more.

ATS used to have a great "search" function. I don't even use the current one.

You know you can organize your myATS page so you don't see the political forums right?

The funny thing is I wanted to search if somebody already posted about this issue and had a solution. I was thinking it was a setting feature I had messed up.

Am I the first one to address the issue of how terrible the search function currently is?


Now that it has been brought up and others seem to be having a similar issues is it going to be fixed?


I mean it's not like I am asking for a new forum or some sort of elaborate site modification.

Is it difficult to fix the search engine and get it back to the way it was when it worked and was readable?

Seem like something simple that could be fixed and should be since there are good threads archived on ATS.

But I'm not asking about that.

I'm aware of that. I was just asking since you were complaining about how all the political stuff ruins the site for you. I just learned how to fix myATS a few months ago, was just trying to help man. You don't have to see it if you don't want to.

Thanks for trying to help...no I just threw in a little passive aggressive ranting to salt my post beyond my main gripe with the search feature looking like a snowstorm.


And in hindsight I regret bring up politics at all....my main issue is the search function.

I get a white background with light gray words...but the thread titles are VERY light green almost impossible to read....wasn't like that the last time I searched but it had been a little while since I did a search

Yes. Have been for months.

And I agree- seems like this is something that should be fixable. In fact, I believe it was brought up months ago. Of course we can't search for that thread, because the SEARCH RESULTS ARE UNREADABLE.

How hard can it be to fix? Honest question.

It's ridiculous isn't it?

I use to remember when people would complain to a poster for not using the search feature when the same topic came up several times.

Maybe that's why there are so many threads on the same topic and the mods have to funnel it all to the original thread.

No one can use the search now to see if some one has already posted something.

Maybe the mods could save themselves the headache of closing and linking multiple posts on the same topic by having some one fix the search feature here.

Short answer: Yes and I don't care for it.
