Fix The Walking Dead show!

Sadly, TWD is DEAD, it’s TIRED, STALE and just DEAD. It’s become tiresome and it’s become a soap opera. It’s no longer about a social statement, but rather about the people. Nothing ever happens…it’s just tired and stale.

With the death of Carl, the whole comic dynamic of Negan in prison and he and Carl’s odd relationship can never be shown now. They’ve thrown this away. Time for something different.

Here’s how to fix the Walking Dead program in 10 easy steps…

1. Demonize zombies - Zombies have become nothing more than a nuisance in TWD now. The characters have lost their mojo when it comes to zombies. They get careless, because zombies are just an everyday occurrence. They’re nothing more than a nuisance. Make them evil, make them have a purpose.

2. Change Rick’s viewpoint – Rick and his merry band of murderers have become nothing more than just that, a bunch of murdering thugs punctuated by Rick’s (way overstated) contorted face. Rick needs to see that whatever it was he’s been searching for isn’t all he thought it was (see item #1). He needs to see the zombies are not an accident, and there really is no place out there where civilization remains intact.

3. Create an enemy – The Saviors are tired. Negan is old. His bravado has grown stale beyond believable. He’s no longer cool…he’s just irritating. There needs to be a bigger evil than Negan. Negan is just middleman. He’s a subservient underling to a far larger evil. The elite. Negan needs to be shown as just a player.

4. Kill Carol – Carol is nothing more than a placeholder for the LBGHT rainbow community. She’s worthless. She’s not a warrior, she’s just a hanger on. She’s like the energizer bunny in reverse. She needs to be dead…DEAD! Tens of thousands of viewers LOVE Carol. Carol needs to be killed…dead to rights!! There can be now personal identity in TWD.

5. Kill the Lion King (or whatever his name is) – This dude is just a serious fantasy deviation from reality in the show. Dead!

6. Tell Maggie to pop the kid or get off the pot – How long has Maggie been pregnant??? About 3 seasons??? The kid is going to be 14 years old when it’s born. The whole Maggie pregnancy thing is ridiculous!! Abort the kid, or get on with the show!

7. Negan needs an ass whoopin! – Negan is super-human right now, but in reality he’s really not super-human. Negan needs a beating, and a bad one. He needs to be shown to be human. Right now he runs around like super-man, but he’s not superman. It doesn’t have to be rick who beats him, but he needs a beating (or maybe hit by a car, or something dropped on him). He needs to be badly injured to show his human side.

8. Sober Rick up – Rick’s contorted face and greasy hair is tired and awful. Rick either needs to get with the program, or go full bat-# crazy (like he appears to be 75% of the time anyway)…and get locked up. Ever since the satellite station raid Rick has been zoned out like he’s on some kind of lithium for crazy people. Rick either needs to get with the program…or get dead.

9. Kill Gregory – this dude is totally worthless, a traitor and worst of all…a politician. Just kill this puke!

10. Daryl – For once and for all…CUT THAT DUDE’S HAIR OUT OF HIS FACE!!! Dude, you’ve been in 150 episodes and your hair has been in your face the whole time. Get that S# out of your face! Take a shower, and clean yourself up!


There you have it.

magie may get fired as they dont want to pay her what she thinlks she deserves, machone may be leaving for the black panther line of movies ,gregory should have been hanged by now ,daryl isnt likely to go anywhere but id agree the show is pretty much screwing the pooch at this point. carrol is kind of awesome in a sweet little old lady that will absoloutly murder you way (look at the flowers )ezikiel should be dead by now as well , on the they need a new enemy arc they should have run into the whisperers by now and alpha unless thats what they are turning the trash people into . the only other upcoming (way way way way off) enemy that could possibly show up is the commonwealth and were not sure if they are evil or not yet. scot gimple is the one killing the walking dead and they gave him fear the walking dead as well right as it was getting good .

FCD? Well then friend!? You've fixed it for good... You just can't get deader then the "laying dead"...now they've done quit walking now... So, it's been coming for a bit..... and now we need to let it stay dead. As in "no longer walking....just "DEAD".

How far could a show about the "dead" really go anyway!!?? Soaps run their course.....

*And yet "Rosanne" is coming back along with "Will and Grace". "Oh the humanity!

Yeah, I read that. If they ditch Maggie then they need to revamp the whole cast. Kill Rick, Michone, Negan and leave some of the underlings to start over again.

I left out Michone. She's gone way, WAY, over the top. She should have been offed a long time ago. The whole Rick & Michone thing is just wrong (and not because it's an interracial thing, but because it's just bad chemistry for the show, really bad.).

Face it, the show has gotten stupid. They already know how to evade the zombies (by putting guts on themselves), so they should never have problems with the zombies ever again...unless they're stupid. Which apparently they are, because they keep making the same mistakes over, over and over again! After a while it becomes insulting to the audience.

Maybe make the zombies less dead, less decayed, and more evil. Make them have a purpose...like ending civilization except for a select few (the elites). Make them the ultimate population control, eliminating the masses so that the elite can have it all. Then you've got a show (back again).

The big draw in TWD was always the social aspect of it, not the personal byline. Now the show has turned into a soap opera, where nothing ever happens. It's like the Days of Our LIves, crossed with General Hospital and Mary Hartman - Mary Hartman all wrapped up into one.

Actually, I would find it refreshing to have an even bigger enemy than Negan... One that makes Negan look like a saint that they are so evil.

Have Negan become one of the "good guys" in that special Negan kind of way.

I finally gave up. I haven't seen the last three episodes... and you know what? I don't care...

I watched the show from the beginning, but it jumped the shark a few seasons ago. I keep trying to force myself to watch, but I've seriously lost interest for all the reasons and more that the OP states.

This last fall season got really desperate at maintaining...

What irritates me s the formula: always constant loss. This isn't even about an intolerance for rough times sort of thing. But it's annoying that it's so staunch about, and sure enough to go it turns out they have to get dodgey to even make it work.

I say it should be a rollercoaster ride, not this constant ride they a dark tunnel (which can o my be made to descend further so far).

There may get be a moment in an episode which could be considered a high point regarding their situation, but never a period of upity. When they finally get a new place it could be so cool for them for what they've known, and mean so much more loss when eventually they lose it all.

TWD should have done something years ago called "make this show worth watching again" I lost interest in the show about 4 years ago and haven't wanted to watch it again.

As a past die hard fan (they film it here where I live) I have lost interest in the storyline. Too many non-essential characters and Rick, our fearless leader, without Carl, no longer cares about anything-just fighting. Done.

The actors and their characters look as weary as we audience members-I think they are done, too-the storylines are tired, depressing and heading nowhere.

Carl better be glad he's gone. There are nothing but walking dead souls and pieces of walking flesh with no hope of any kind of future.

As a last sad note, met Daryl in person; he's so gross I can't even describe his ugliness-and NO personality-just like the show so he's not acting-that's him-ug.

Another thing to fix it.....

The next time Maggie tries to say "y'all" in that God awful pathetic attempt at a Southern accent that seems to come and go with her have a horde of zombies eat her face off.

And make Daryl cool and calm like he used to be. Now he's all emotional everyt scene hes in from hanging around these drama queens for 8 seasons.

I tried to watch twd.
Got somewhere in the second episode and turned it off. Right about the time that the dudes wife was screwing his best friend.
She was so broken up over the loss of her husband "She didn't actually know he was dead" that she felt the urge to get laid.
Still feeling guilty enough to hide it though.

Nope, I'm out.
Mind eating dead people I can accept.
Bad storytelling I cant.

Yeah, they've ruined the Daryl character...pretty much like they've ruined about everything else on the show. They just beat anything that even remotely works to death, and Daryl is a great example. His character was so much better when he was still just the quiet type off in the shadows, when you never really knew for sure what side he was on...or if he was on any side at all.

And then there's the whole Maggie thing! Gawd, makes me just want to toss a sidewalk-pizza every time she shows up now. They could have done so much with her character, but now they've got that all jacked up too!

They had a gold mine of a program in the beginning, but the whole paradigm of the show has changed completely. The changing creative talent has not done the show any favors at all! Where do they find these people??? Gosh, I swear I could do a better job coming up with story lines than they're doing right now. I swear they've now hired a bunch of laid off producers and creative people from The Young and The Restless or something.

I'm just waiting for dragons to show up! When the dragons show up...I'm OUT!

I mean just think about it, there's so many missed opportunities. Like the helicopter for example. It happened so long ago now most viewers have probably forgotten about it. If they bring it up now it'll be like a non-sequitur and people will be confused. They lost the momentum. It's almost like they stuck the scene in there and then forgot about it.

I actually thought that part made sense really...in a twisted sort of way. It was about people moving on, so that kind of fit with the story line at the time.

Where they really started to blow it was, they had this huge build-up to the whole Lori Grimes birth thing, and then this explosive C-section and Carl killing his mother segment...then nothing.

Where is Judith Grimes anyway (rhetorical question)? Why doesn't Rick care where she is?

What's up with the trash people??? Okay, I get it that there's a bunch of people who live in a trash heap, but what's their purpose? They're just sort of 'there', with no back-story. Makes no sense?

How is it that nobody ever seems to run out of ammunition??? For the longest time on the program ammunition was a prized commodity, and they're still playing that story line with Eugene...yet every singe time they get into some kind of a shooting match everyone has a limitless amount of ammunition and just fires with wild abandon into the darkness at nothing for no apparent reason! C'mon...at least be consistent!

This kind of stuff is insulting to the viewers.

I liked the start of the reboot to battlestar galactica.
The first season was well written and well acted.
But after the success they received, it was like they had no clue where to go next.
I felt they just threw a dart at the wall and said use that one.

I imagine twd is experiencing the same thing.
They were scrambling to find a direction.

And as someone that is happily married, I can't imagine finding comfort from the loss of my wife in another woman's bed. At least not so quickly.
Maybe I'm wrong on how others would feel but it really bothered me.

I agree with some of your statements.

Im a huge TWD fan.
Its the one and only tv show that ive ever actually cared about watching.
I sat threw all of breaking bad. However there were many, many, many episodes I missed and didnt care about going back to watch.
TWD though is different for me. I care about the major cast.
Up until season 8 I used to feel it when one of our major characters died.
When Beth got smoked...damn near had tears in my eyes.
Sophia, and that entire scene of her being revealed and everyone gasping at the revelation...
I still dont want to talk about it.
But season 8...I didnt really care that Carl got killed. Sure it impacts the show and brings it toward a total different course than the comics. So im actually looking forward to a show with out him.

Negan WILL survive Season 8, being taken prisoner and will be part of the group come mid season 9.
There is still a lot of story for Negan without Carl in the picture.
And we will see Negan take a new tone when he redeems himself.
Then we have Jadis...Soon to be known as "Alpha" from the Whisperers

Ezekiel...I agree, this clown needs to be killed off.
From the moment he opened his mouth when he was introduced, i was willing to bet people were like, WTF!!! why would TWD bringing something like this on the air?
Those same people most likely never read the comics, so him and his mannerisms were a surprise.
My wife for instance, she stopped watching the show once he was introduced. She never read the comics so had no idea about him. And thought the same thing like most "WTF, why would they do a character like this."
Myself, even with reading the comics, knowing full well about the king... i HATE his character.
If he didnt play the Shakespearean angle, then perhaps I could stomach him.
Until then im looking forward to seeing his decapitated head next to Rositas on a pike from Jadis' new goon squad.

Carol - Love her. She could bring any Navy Seal down to his knees in defeat.

Rick - NEEDS to drop the constant "Im going to kill you" crap.
Dude cant win a fist fight with Negan. Gets himself tossed out a window, then runs away.
But loves to get on the radio to threaten him repeatedly.
Hes had more than enough chances to kill the guy ie, showing up on Negans door step.
Having him point blank. But rather than kill him, give a nice little speech and shoot everything up BUT the people you come to kill.
I despised Morgans whole, Thou Shall not kill crap.
Im happy to see him finally understanding, its kill or be killed right now.
Sucks that hes leaving after the season 8 finale, just when he was becoming a valuable character.

Gimple is gone. THANK EFF!
Hopefully they can clean up this mess that incompetent boob has left this show in, and get it back on track.
Season 9 should make up for Season 8 while under new direction....hopefully.

For those hoping that Rick kills Negan in the Finale, unfortunately its not going to happen.
Carl was killed so Negan could live.

There was no way the fans of TWD would accept Rick keeping Negan alive after all the atrocities hes committed.
Sure it worked in the comics.
But there is a much larger and vocal fan base for the show....(read More money in the show.)
Carl was killed off in a Prophetic sort of way.
His dying wish for his dad was to stop fighting.
And to live in harmony with Negan and the Saviors.

Now with Carl dead, there's a reason for Rick to let this happen;
to fulfill his dead son's wish.

Hence the "My mercy, over my wrath"....

1. Demonize zombies - Couldn't agree more. The zombie threat is non existent. People only get bit or trapped when they do something screamingly stupid. Oh look, a swamp, let's jump in and get surrounded by zombies. Oh look, a quiet forest, let's have a pack of zombies somehow sneak up on us and attack us and bite us in the stomach.

4. Kill Carol – I don't see how you see her as a placeholder for the LGBT community? Carol is straight, she had kids and a husband. She had a flirtation with Daryl. She's never flirted with a girl...

7. Negan needs an ass whoopin! – Or Rick's people just needed to shoot straight. Remember when they had 50 guns pointing at Negan at point blank range, and they all managed to miss while Negan and all of his lieutenants ran back inside?

You make some good points. But really I think the main thing they need to do if they want to save the utter unwatchable turkey this show has become is sack the entire writing room, and bring in fresh new writers with fresh new ideas and fresh new stories.

But they won't because it's all jobs for the boys, jobs for your mates, etc, etc.

They should have killed Carol at the same time as Carl's death, both surprising and in front of Rick, and made the entire episode an hour of Rick yelling "Choral! Carol! Choral! Carol!" then ended the series.

Rick got to be the sweatiest mofo I've ever seen. Every scene that dude is just dripping with sweat and snot. CORAL!
