I would like to think that the DOJ has something to hold over his head by threatening to fire him before his retirement date, but I don't know that there is any leverage there.
I could be wrong, but even if they fired him, he won't completely lose his pension.
I think the pension would just be pro-rated to the date of termination, which would be 99.999% since he worked nearly the whole way to retirement.
He might lose his health insurance benefits or something else. I dunno.
It would be nice if they could stick him with charges of some sort and get him to flip.

Yes, I read that somewhere, makes me angry that
this is what Obama Et Al did to him.
My personal opinion is Flynn was targeted because
of his desire to investigate and counter Gulen.
I would hope that if a Second Special Counsel
were to be appointed, perhaps some indictments
would follow. The Inspector General maybe doing
a great job but the scope of the corruption is so
far past his ability to investigate.
Perhaps if some charges were handed down,
at least McCabe would have to employ an
expensive attorney, at best he might be

I'll assume that you are using the CIA as one of many examples of closed and powerful organizaons that all point in the same direction.
That direction being a concerted method using varios means and methods to placate the Joe and Jane normal and ensure power remains in the hands of very few, chosen individuals.
It's time to re-write the script.
