So NK are considering talks, making an end to their Nuclear programme
Is it possible Trump has effectively pushed North Korea to the edge, is it a cat and mouse game

Taking away their ability to export coal to China seems to have been a death blow

Or am I just thinking wrong?

We will likely be expected to flood them with aid and FOOD. It is winter yet, and I bet their hungry. Still far cheaper than War.

President Trump is a WHOLE NEW entity, one the political establishment has not encountered before. Anything is possible with the lack of typical restraints...

I think it more likely this is a stalling tactic , talking about ending their Nuclear program and ending their Nuclear program are two different things.

Most likely they'll hide the nuclear weapons. I really highly doubt they are seriously thinking of giving it up.

You may be right, but...... it could also be a missed opportunity if not acted upon. Either way it's going to cost $'s

North Korea will keep their nukes no matter what. They will actively pretend to dismantle their nukes but I do hope peace is achieved and North Korea can go back to being the quiet irrelevant country they were to begin with.

I hate to see their people still suffer but their citizens are not worth spilling American or allied blood over.

Possible. We shall see. Keep the pressure on, though.

We have to discuss sanctions with any countries international partners as to not disrupt markets to the point of failure. China was contacted & agreed, even if with a shaking fist. NK must engage with China diplomatically, China will get all of the pollution of chemical reactors & nukes on their home soil if war were to occur. China will not allow their homeland to be polluted. The U.S will continue these sanctions until we can come to a compromise. NK is buying time for China, war is on the whoreizon.

Trump will have his war to bolster his fragile ego. The likes of Halliburton and all the private contractors will prosper and young Americans will fight and die.

I'm surprised the pattern isn't obvious to everyone.

At least Trump is doing something about NK. Obama did nothing, they already knew Kim was a loose cannon and was making nukes. I hope that NK abandons the nuclear program and becomes a more friendly nation, I feel sorry for his people over there, being conditioned to believe war is a good thing. It will take a couple of generations to fully weed out this conditioning.

Its a bluff from North Korea... The US have claimed their prepared to have diplomatic talks with North Korea (even though they have no intention of actually doing it), as long as ending their nuclear program was on the table... Since the US was convinced North Korea would of never accepted diplomatic talks on these terms.

Now obviously, North Korea have no intention of actually ending their nuclear program... But they also know the Trump administration have no real intentions of having meaningful diplomatic talks ... So basically, NoKo are simply calling the bluff.

As usual, Trump should have just shown some restraint and not run his mouth off in the first place... Now his backed into a corner.

Lmao ..

NK isn’t ending there mike program.. they already have them and will never give them up. All he said was he would stop testing.

Trump doesn’t scare anyone. He made sure the whole world knew he was a joke.

He has threatened Kim multiple times only to have Kim INSTAMTLY call his bluff and trump do nothing.

Remember “if he threatens another of our allies..fire and fury.”

Then Kim instantly threatened both us and our allies??

A country that has the biggest nuclear arsenal in the world and is also the only one to ever use it on innocent civilians is telling another country they can't have nukes? The irony is palpable.

Absolutely, however the stakes are just too high with nukes..

Just ONE russia vs the US type nuclear exchange would AT BEST send us back to the Stone Age...

Every new administration, for every nuclear power is a dice roll until we finally get ANOTHER Hitler.

Hell , I am not a fan of imperialism, but you have to wonder if the US shouldn’t have conquered the world in that 5 year period where we were the only nuclear power.

An empire might need to nuke a city to stop a rebellion, but you never have the 10,000 nukes vs. 10,000 nukes exchange you WILL one day have with our present situation..

Lets hope the Biggest threat of all to World Peace...the USA, gives up its nuclear program too.

Perhaps the USA should distribute its 6000 nuclear weapons, to countries that currently have no nuclear weapons.....

Say, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, all the African Nations, All of South America, and then the "World" (as in crazy Humans) will all be on an even keel, and will all have their deterrents......Just in Case!!

See. the USA can save the day again.....make Everyone Nuclear Powered.....Simples..
