I don't know if this has been posted yet but,

But the big takeaway here is not just that the B-21 will indeed execute its test program out of Edwards AFB, but that it will be rolling out of the shadows to do so soon, at least according to the 412th Test Wing's boss.

Makes one wonder how far along the building of the B-21 is.

Curious is that this comes a week after Putin describes new nukes.

Another billion dollar bomber? To project force-- erm, Democracy abroad , no doubt.

Meanwhile, other countries are investing in small light weight weapons systems, that deliver warheads without a huge expensive platform needed to fly them all the way there.

There have long been rumors of a demonstrator flying for the last several years, including a trip to the UK to demonstrate and test against some European systems.

And China is building the H-20.

The Russians keep talking about the PAK-DA.

Nope, no one else is building bombers.

He doesn't care. Just as long as it's the U.S. that doesn't.

Most Airforce projects seem way ahead of schedule than behind once they are discovered by the media.

Previous programs didn't do the level of risk reduction and testing before the media found out about them that we are seeing now.

Supposedly, there were demonstrators for the Next Generation Bomber program before it got reset, yes?

Yes. Not a lot changed with the airframe though.

Interesting. I thought the requirements had changed enough (payload, etc) they would need to do some shifting. Enough to require a respin of the airframes.

They did to a degree, but they were able to work the changes in without a total redesign. Both NGB and LRSB had similar enough requirements.

So is this gonna be a "wow" new airplane or just basically B-2 2.0?

What, did someone ask a question?

It's going to look almost exactly like the rendering. Not everything that gives a plane that wow factor is in its looks.

I've seen the resemblance to the B-2 in the rendering. I kinda was more interested in knowing if B-21 was going to be just a "hotrodded" B-2.

The aspects that make it amazing aren't going to see the light of day.

Of course not.

Cloaking devices make daylight pass through the plane. duh.
