I am positive, however, we should add "fickle bastards" to the list.

I've found that women like a strong yet calm bloke. Someone who has inner strength. Then they get bored and go back to seeking the thugs who they swore off.

Just my take, I'm no catch. but I'm tired of being the leftovers, writing a saga that someone else always get to write the final chapters to.

It's a chore. I never looked for anything, it has always come to me in forms of help needed or advice. one thing leads to another and I have found myself smitten. I will still be somewhat giving of help or advice to those close to me. But won't let myself become attached to another. it ruins things when people I consider dear friends, take what they want and move on. Knowing full well what they wanted all along, but doing so anyway.

A toy in a box, I won't be for anyone else. something to put away when they decide to go outside and play. heart breaking for me, nothing to them.

Using people is the worst trait. We all need to be wanted. so we let our guard down, and hope for the best. For me, that wall is now impenetrable. too old to trust, but not too jaded to care. Whence I get my footing back in my own life, if I do, I'll be that shoulder so many once knew. But no arms to embrace anyone, lost that with my ex. Ride free bink. you took everything and threw it away for a biker dating website and a throbbing harley between your legs. well done.

Someone makes a benign comment, (or thread) and another person seizes the opportunity to launch a personal attack on the unsuspecting victim, due to having been pissed off on another thread, or it hit too close to home, or who knows?

I find those comments best ignored. Don't you?

ps. I would never imagine how you could possibly be anyone's 'leftovers". Besides, some leftovers are best when they've been allowed to sit in their own juices for a while.

pss. I have never found 'fart jokes" funny, for some reason. Well, not since kindergarten.

When people talk right over the top of you, not letting you get a word in. My philosophy is there are kind people, friends, and those who pose as friends with an agenda. I do not suffer fools..... in which case, if it comes to a point of rudeness, I simply say "were done" and turn away, walk away, drive away. I have no time for those aggressive or verbal abusive people, And I don't participate in their behaviors. I will not look to encounter them ever again. Simple really.

Hate to say it, but it does seem the trend...

It's best to think long and hard, and then to remove toxic people from your circle. Do not give them access to you as you know their intentions.

But, my god the freedom, the pure unadulterated freedom that you now have. Would you trade it? Would you go back and do it differently and have those memories removed?

For me never. I will never go back onto the plantation. I feel sorry for those who can't be comfortable by themselves. I feel sorry for the constant talkers who will always need to be surrounded by people and attention. That type of desire to me is hell on earth. I would never trade any of the misery or pain of the past. The education from those experiences is my most cherished possession. For now I am free and content with myself.

Envy/jealousy

People who see things that others either have or can do that they cannot and set about to either take it or destroy those people because they cannot stand it.

It's a very, very common thing today and causes a lot of society's problems.

I hope I make the list.

How though? Most of the jealousy I know involves romantic relationships. Fear your significant other wants to trade you in, or fear someone is trying to take your significant other.

And I know people who seem to be jealous of other people's possessions. And women are worse, I think, in envying another woman's good looks. Other women have been jealous of me, because I'm thin. It's caused problems for me in the workplace in the past, when I had an overweight female boss. I've seen your pict, Ket, (eating a taco, lol) and I bet you've experienced some of that too.

But as far as 'societal problems", how so?

People spend too much time worrying about what others have that they do not.

The evil, greedy rich have too much, so we look to tear them down.

Competition is bad. It makes the kids who can't compete feel bad, so we just don't compete, or everyone gets a trophy.

Your child isn't gifted. All kids are gifted.

No one can ever be made to feel special or better or different in any way because it makes others feel bad because they are left out -- jealousy, envy.

Instead of focusing on what you can be or are, you focus on what you aren't, might never be and seek to destroy the ones who are those things because you envy them.
