Shooting @ Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Coral Springs Florida

Caller to CNN says shooter was outside the building.

The fire drill part is that they thought it was another fire drill from earlier that day.

Local reporter is crying.. Says reports of deceased kids and a teacher

Per police scanner SUSPECT is a white male, wearing Burgendy shirt, black pants, and black hat.

He is seen walking on a nearby street, didn't hear which street.

This high school is a larger setup than most Highschools with three large buildings and several smaller buildings.

Per records, there are over 3,000 students at this high school.

This is the only public high school in Parkland, FL.

Broward County is one of the worst places, crime-wise, in America. Tons of drugs come in on the ocean there. Though crime rates dropped in Florida last year, they rose in Broward.

I assume Broward keeps a SWAT team on standby at all times because of gang and drug activity.

Edit to add: they do indeed keep a 38 member SWAT team on call 24/7

Why do the students have to run with their arms above their heads, so they aren´t able to run really fast, doesn´t make much sense. A shooter could hide among the students, by raising his arms too and walking/"running" with them, if he is young enough.

I pray that you also don’t have unspeakable low life scum like this who take out their personal failures on innocent children.

I thought these things were not supposed to happen anymore, that the citizens of the US would now be kept safe from this kind of terror.

We can’t even keep our kids safe from ourselves!

Just heard that there have been 18 school shootings this year (2018).

Parents can't leave neighborhoods to get kids.

Guess we have scum like that, the first officially recorded school rampage happened im my city, in Cologne. It was in the sixties, 1964, an a$$hole that crafted a flamethrower and a lance and killed kids in a school with it.

Switched to the ABC live stream and saw how somebody in a red shirt was arrested at a police car.

Suspect in custody now. They are showing his arrest Live. Arrested at his home.

I pray that this day is not remembered by history as the second

St. Valentines Day Massacre.

Caller reporting they talked to some of the kids from that building..

They say the fire alarm went off 10 minutes before class was out. They filled outside..

That's where they were shot.

So this perp pulled the alarm then shot them as they went outside...

They said they saw a bunch of kids on the ground with blood everywhere.

Hey, I'm as skeptical as the next guy but...

THIS IS THEIR JOB.

Law enforcement, personnel and their equipment are prepared for these moments. We don't want these moments but our resources are trained for them.

My condolences to all the injured, killed and their families.

Most of us just want to get through today to deal with tomorrow.

There was a fire drill earlier in the day and the student shooter was there. Other students identified him. The second time the fire alarm went off was the real thing. Not sure if he went home and got weapon or if he already had one.

Ok, thanks, thought they might have caught two shooters.


But what i mentioned, how they handled the guy, didn´t touch him too hard. They didn´t shoot him, seems as if they never tried to shoot him. Is it maybe because he is white? Normally the cops there are trigger happy, but now, when they have a good reason to shoot somebody...

That's not how I understood the caller(s).

They made it sound like there was a fire drill earlier today in a different building.

Then at 3:40 the alarm went off in the freshman building.. as the kids filled out they were shot.

The suspect then hopped the fence to Wal-Mart...

Hopefully we find out exact details soon.
