Modern people haven't got a garden, that's all that was required , I don't see the same thing happening in Cuba, they all got down to it and kept things going. Venezuelans are more resilient than the modern westerner , so god only knows what will happen when the crunch comes to the West.

Whether it is government corruption or not, it is a socialist society.

Just because Venezuela is run by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela does not make the county or society socialist. They can call themselves what they like, but it won't let them escape the fact that they the problems in Venezuela are a direct result of mismanagement of the economy coupled with insane and corrupt politics.

DO you truly believe what you just said??? Really??
The country is RUN by the united Socialist Party, but, nooooooo, they are not a socialist society. They just have corrupt leaders. HAHAHAHAHA.....

Please stop, my sides are hurting from laughter.

Wake up and smell the .... wait... you can't. The socialists stole the roses for the "common good" and pocketed the money, for the "common good.

People don't "flee" socialist nations.

They just go on "extended vacations" to other countries that may not embrace the same utopian ideals.

There were several reports in 2017 of people - mainly kids - dying of starvation in the failed state known as Venezuela. Food shortages, hyper inflation and mismanagement are the cause, supported by an ideologically-driven intransigence from a corrupt government. You can call it socialism if you like, but actually it's just very poor government and quasi-dictatorship

No surprise that people are being forced to leave in 2018. Very sad.

This is exactly what it is, many Venezuelans believe the previous president was murdered and a puppet ruler installed that has caused the state to fail, these people believe it to be a deliberate act and I tend to believe that to be the case.

Every time one of these socialist / communist regimes or even policies fail the fall back excuse is that not enough money was spent or the wrong people were elected.

Socialism always starts out ok but eventually winds up imploding on itself because people are naturally greedy and corrupt. There will always be an elite class at the top. When profit and innovation are removed, an economy cannot survive as there is no incentive to provide goods and services at an individual level, only to suck on the teet of the government.

All these problems in the world caused by 'money' which is a made up commodity magically appearing from nowhere to cause these issues. You look at the world right now with migrations.... its all because of money. The crooks who invented it better do something about it.
