I scoured the forums for this subject but no one seems to have brought it up (or I'm bad at scouring). I ran across this twitter thread from about 6-8 months ago and thought I'd get ATS input.

Here's a LINK to the story. There are pictures, audio and video's to go with this creepy story.

Here's my summary:

Adam Ellis is a cartoonist who claims he had a dream about a kid sitting in the chair at the end of his bed. It was a little boy and his head was deformed, his forehead abnormally large and one side of his head caved in. This dream reoccurred a few times and one time the kid got out of the chair and started to come towards him in his bed. He awoke in a panic and didn't think anything of it (just a weird bad dream).

A few days later he had a dream he was in a library and a girl came up and told him he had seen "dear david." He was allowed to ask david two questions but if he asked a third, david would kill him. The next time he dreamt about david, he asked three questions (the third was accidental). Weird things began happening. He changed apartments and everything stopped for a couple of weeks. Then the weird things started happening again, cats sitting at the door at midnight, static at 3am, weird pictures, rocking chairs caught on his motion camera, loud noises from the crawl space above his apartment, and finally actual pictures of "dear david" watching him while he slept.

He tried a number of things to remedy the situation, from long vacations away from his apartment to cleansing rituals, sage and salt. Nothing helped. Things seem to have calmed down a little but odd things have been happening as recently as a few weeks ago.

I haven't had time to thoroughly inspect the photo's he has uploaded (to check timestamps and other metadata) but from a quick glance they don't seem obviously photoshopped.

Anyway, maybe one of you has looked into this. What do you think?

Cool story.

His Soundcloud recordings have had nearly half a million plays so he's on his way to viral. Reads like a Twitter version of Creepypasta with the short sentences designed to create suspense. He's done a good job and especially as twitter is usually catatonically boring.

I'm halfway through the story and going back to finish it.

so in summary " dear david " is an utterly inept assassin

Well he has got a dent in his head. It's got to play hell with with his forward planning.

I read about figuring along the lines of a creepypasta-like story as well. I recall he seen the child's face in a statue-which had many faces- in Japan. That, of course, comes off as pareidolia. Which might account for his other sightings.

I think he's just doing it as a fun, viral thing

Bah... seepy pasta is the worst. Kandy for the win.

If some random chick started talking to me about seeing a dead boy in my dreams, you can be sure I would grill her about every aspect of it... this guy seemed strangely incurious.

Real paranormal stuff is usually far more innocuous and non-linear OR far, far more weird.

I deem this overcooked pasta...
