FBI Issues Rare Official Statement on the Memo

Then maybe they shouldn't have lied saying the FBI chief gave the go ahead. Or that it didn't contain classified information, or that it's release wouldn't endanger American agents.
If they have issued an official statement then the congressman who made that claim is a liar and this is not seeking justice it's political.
Geez what would you guys say if this was Hillary wanting to release classified into after the whole email thing? You'd be ballistic.

First the narrative was "releasing this info could harm national security". You'd think the FBI would have mentioned that in this statement if it was a legit concern. So obviously that was just lies. Now the new narrative is gonna be that they didn't release enough information lol ya can't make this stuff up. You go ahead and believe that.

As we all should know, BOTH sides have a vested interest to spin things their way.

Let's pretend this is a court proceeding, and instead of allowing lawyers from both to sides speak, the judge (the people) decide to let one of the parties provide a secret memo.........

How fair would you feel this is, if your side did not get to introduce this memo???


This whole mess is simply to keep the public from seeing the ENTIRE REPORT!!!!

I am with you that until we get to see the Intel behind the memo, how can we know it's true.

My hope is that the release of the memo is the impetus for releasing that Intel.

If not, then we will have to wait for the ig report for a more unbiased look.

trump said he fired Comey because of this "Russia thing"......it was videotaped, shown to tens of millions of people, and trump has not denied it.....how big does your "cap" have to be, to think about that?

The republicans who yell and scream about the FBI being politically influenced during the Clinton probe want to politically influence the FBI to release this memo. To smear the democrats.

The thing I find interesting is they aren't disputing the facts of thr memo. What they are saying is there needs to be additional imformaton added to the memo. So do you think will get a release from the FBI for that information?

I star you for that response, unfortunately once that memo is released, partisan politics will be rampant, and just beg for a Democrat response, that will ensure more mud slinging.

I'm not sure how practical that would be. Without the right training letting civilians try to make sense of raw intel is problematic. You see how bad it gets when the public sits in judgement over officer involved shootings, with all the expertise they've picked up from years of NYPD: Blue and CSI.

I am sure that there were some reasons for some of the actions by the FBI that were legit, for a president to order surveillance on both parties to make sure they are not plants from Russia or China or any country we do not have good relations with is fine. But what was done with this information is what is of concern, it was leaked, it was given to Hillary's campaign, it was twisted into a nest of deceit by the media.

Now the FBI can see the twisting with this but makes no statements of how information leaked from the FBI that benefits the Democratic party and liberals is being twisted by the press. Can't the leaders of the FBI see this, who is blinding them?

No leaks should be coming from the FBI or any intelligence agency. People caught doing this should be put in prison immediately.

Kind of like the context of the "secret society" text which turned out to be nothing but a joke. Context is extremely important and the FBI is saying that without that context the memo is nothing but rubbish.
