A cinematic joy to see but Del Toro's beauty and the beast tale was trite and corny with some social relevantcy scenes thrown in for the guilt factor.
I usually like period pieces and this one was very well done, but without characters I can relate to a film just falls flat imo. All that said M. Shannons portrayal of the evil Villainous government man made it all worthwhile.

Kinda figured I'd wait for redbox on this one.
Rather spend $2 for my moral spankings than $40.

But how did the mute girl avoid scale burn when she was.... Nevermind...
I enjoyed it. The good guys were good the bad guys were bad. But clearly it was subtly talking about South American Immigration. And gay rights? Lots of virtue signaling with your sci-fi love story.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it 5 sjws

I enjoyed it, ignored the social issue insertions. I suspect it was based upon a true story.

I thought the movie was great.

Del Toro can be such a great story teller.

And yeah. Shannon is a great actor. He has that "being a dick" quality to him.

I was planning to watch it with my wife and two young daughters... that could've been a bit awkward... anyways, me and the Missus liked it.

Not seen it, the preview trailer doesn’t appeal to me.
I’m surprised it won best picture last night. I expected Darkest Hour to win

I heard a nickname for this movie, and now I can't get it out of my head...

"Grinding Nemo"......
