In light of recent developments, Trump should definitely refuse any hypothetical Mueller interview

According to a story in the Washington Post Mueller wants to talk to trump about Flynn and Comey.

www.washingtonpost.com... ee_story.html?utm_term=.f7c7bd3ddb64

This should get interesting.

Gee if Trump is so innocent why be concerned with a simple interview, unless you're guilty.

K~

I think the gyst of it is Trump is SO innocent that he doesn't understand whats the point..... Like, the most innocent man who ever lived.....Bigly innocent.

And he is pretty straightforward about invoking the 5'th...

The story says he wants to talk to him. Not be pen pals with him. Written questions was never going to happen. It was a pipe dream of trumps lawyer.

It was done with Iran contra Reagan did it. Turns out most likely because he has alshiemers. Then there was Nixon who just flat out refused to even acknowledge his supeonas.

Mueller wants to question him not as a witness like he did Bannon or even Comey but as a person of interest.

So why in the world would you think Trump does not have a 5th amendment privileges?

I'll say this the investigation is in trouble if they want to talk to trymp. Sitting presidents have been interviewed by prosecutors in the past, though courts have urged government investigators to seek such interviews only when they cannot obtain relevant information another way. So this means his investigation hinges on the president. That being said I'm sure his lawyers will severely limit the questions asked.

Why would anyone trust these people?

pjmedia.com...

An FBI informant has apparently informed Congress that a secret society at the FBI was holding secret meetings off-site after the election of Donald Trump. On Special Report with Bret Baier Tuesday evening, Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) called it "corruption of the highest levels of the FBI." "That secret society — we have an informant that's talking about a group that were holding secret meetings off-site," Johnson said.

It probably has something to do with some rando anonymous source that everyone is basing this 'Sky is Falling, the FBI is corrupt' theory to help themselves sleep at night for electing a criminal. Just a thought.

I mean, this just in, an anonymous source at the FBI told me they've got the pee tape, and its much much worse than anyone imagined. What do you think about that now?

It probably has something to do with you not reading the link.
It is ok if you have reading issues, you can get help.

I did read it, which is why I assumed the 'FBI informant who disclosed the 'secret society' within the FBI was someone other than the 2 FBI agents in question (ya know, since neither of them mentioned 'secret society' in their texts - as it was Republican lawmakers like Trey Gowdy and others who coined the term in this instance). But hey, if believing subjective hearsay from your Republican overlords is your modus operandi, who am I to stand in the way of such fascist fervor.

A good title for your thread could have been "why Trump thinks he's so special he shouldn't have to play by the rules of decency, and why you should think so too!"

The rules of decency involve giving up Constitutional safeguards put in place to prevent governmental abuse? Why would you advocate such an untypical a-liberal position?

You should never speak to investigators. Period.

False narrative failure...

"Perhaps this is the first meeting of the secret society."

Do you have reason to believe that text does not exist or do you believe that it doesn't exist without reason?

I just want the truth, good bad or indifferent. We all do, don't we? DON"T WE? Witnesses running away and shielding themselves from providing it is not the answer.

The truth needs to OUT. At this point, whatever it takes. These issues are sucking the life out of our government and it's functionality.

We need to sort it out. The end will justify the means in these dangerous waters. Survival and the truth are first.

No end of people who apparently believe that here and at the FBI.

If you have a truth that needs to be told, then tell it for God Sake, and don't be a coward!
And by the way, this is not Salem. It's Robert Mueller, who is just a man, hired to find the truth.

Trump should welcome the opportunity to clear his name with Mueller and shoot the witch hunt down. Unless....

We need the TRUTH

An investigation is the only way to get it. That's why we have one. Like I said, Good, Bad, or Indifferent.
We need to know. Let the man do his job.

You may need the truth, but if you have to trample peoples 5th amendment rights int he process im not so sure you'd be a lesser evil than the lie you want rooted out.

You cannot compel someone to provide testimony against themselves. You cannot force them to do it. Mueller is welcome to do his job if he can do so without violating the civil rights of the president in the process.
