Flu shot or not, that is the question

They said the shot only had about a 10% effective rate. I didn't get it, and never do, and I caught this flu bug. I just dealt with it, it's clearing up after 5 days.

Besides, you're giving your body a chance to build up its immunity to influenza again, especially since this particular strain has mutated.


The choice is yours, either believe the conspiracies behind it, or don't.

No flu shots here.
No pnuemonia shots.
Same with shingles.

You would get more aluminum from baking powder and especially pickles though. Some soft cheese slices also contain aluminum. But since we cannot isolate ourselves from aluminum in the diet sometimes, the flu vaccine can be the tip of the iceberg, so some people think it alone is causing their health issues in Asthma. Eliminating aluminum sources can lessen asthma risk, including the flu shot which uses aluminum based adjuvants. I did not check if other types of vaccines do contain aluminum. Mercury and aluminum and also titanium have similar adjuvant responses..

I suppose that I am the milkmaid. Medical practice is exactly what it says..."practice". I don't think that vaccines have some hidden agenda, although they can carry side effects or be altogether ineffective. I see it as biological programming and I'm in.

Vaccines are made to trigger immune response (hopefully, not to excess) and statistically, very few have negative reactions.

Only the multi dose vaccines have the preservative Thimerisol (containing mercury) in the batch. If you get a single dose shot, there is no mercury. If you're worried, ask for the single dose, even though the type of mercury in Thimerisol (ethyl mercury) is not the same as the hind that can cause CNS damage (methyl mercury.) Get the shot.

I didn't take a shot, but due to how small the office is, I caught a week-long strain that seemed to have a couple of "waves". The first wave was almost like a mini-flu: I felt like crud a couple days, and then went to work with a runny nose.

Came home Monday night feeling better (with only a slight runny nose). Woke up Tuesday, and BAM! I had a high fever, shivers, and wacky sleep patterns (one minute I'd be awake, the next I fell asleep or lost conscious). Solid food would have been a mistake. Had a lot of vertigo.

I'm still feeling it a bit - My lymph nodes were swollen Friday, but they seem to almost be normal now.

In short: Nope, still no flu shot.

Never had the flu shot either.

We do more harm to our immune systems than good.

Never had the flu shot, and never came down with symptomatic flu. However I did have to finally get the shot last week due to a work commitment with a client, unfortunate but the client is a hospital.

Much less from April to October, when we get sunshine.
From November to March, we take 5000 IU.

We're rarely sick, maybe one cold every 18 months.
Maybe I had the flu once around 1993.

it takes 2 weeks for the flu shot to be effective,,,so if anyone is unfortunate to catch the flu before that time is up will be sick......true it is somewhat of a guessing game...they mix up what they think will be the most likely strains to hit and sometimes they are way way off

I`ve never gotten a flu shot in almost 60 years of my existence and I haven`t gotten the flu in almost 20 years. apparently my immune system works just fine without a lot of manmade chemical concoctions being injected into it.

that`s very interesting I`ve never gotten a flu shot and I haven`t had the flu in almost 20 years but I DO spend a lot of time outdoors, all year long.
I`ve always remembered what my grandmom said," there isn`t anything a hard days work won`t cure", or apparently in the case of the flu, prevent.

i get it every year and i rarely get sick, but i DON'T spend a lot of time outdoors.

Good points, I never thought about the debit/credit card machines and gas pumps. Maybe its better if people just wore latex gloves until the flu epidemic is over! Probably a dust mask wouldn't hurt either, lol. With all the advancement in technology, you would think the medical field would be keeping pace to protect us from these viruses.

We might as well wear latex gloves when we leave the house and dust masks! The dust masks are cumbersome and I'm sure people will look at us like we're nuts, lol. Too bad they don't have anything to put in our noses so it doesn't attract attention.
