The peace of God to all that belong to the Light
Dear Readers

Let me write these Lines in Memory of one of the greatest Polymaths that have ever honored America so much to have Hosted him.

He was Drawer, painter, Ornithologist, naturalist, his contribution to the study of wild life in general became a standard and his classification of American birds in particular is simply incomparable.

I am referring to the Haitian born John James Audubon, who brought a combination of skills few times are seeing in a single person.

He was not the first member of his family to visit the USA, his father Lieutenant Jean Audubon, a French naval officer (and privateer) from the south of Brittany fought in favor of the American Revolution.

In 1803, his father obtained a false passport so that Audubon could go to the United States to avoid conscription in the Napoleonic Wars, what makes him one of the most famous illegal immigrants ever in America.

Jean Audubon and Claude Rozier arranged a business partnership for their sons to pursue in Pennsylvania. It was based on Claude Rozier's buying half of Jean Audubon's share of a plantation in Haiti, and lending money to the partnership as secured by half interest in lead mining at Audubon's property of Mill Grove.

Audubon caught yellow fever upon arrival in New York City. The ship's captain placed him in a boarding house run by Quaker women. They nursed Audubon to recovery and taught him English. He traveled with the family's Quaker lawyer to the Audubon family farm Mill Grove. The 284-acre (115 ha) homestead is located on the Perkiomen Creek a few miles from Valley Forge.

It is interesting to remember the giant contribution of an immigrant John James Audubon to the National science in a time unfortunately science in this country looks so orphan of official support, like if the ignorance of a cheap rhetoric sadly has decided to flush it in the toilet of populism and xenophobia.

Dear Readers,

Birds of America by James Audubon is a portal into the natural world, a unique experience that combines art and science
both at masters level.

Printed between 1827 and 1838, it contains 435 life-sized watercolours of North American birds (Havell edition), all reproduced from hand-engraved plates, and is considered to be the archetype of wildlife illustration.

Please check:
www.audubon.org...

John James Audubon (1785-1851) was not the first person to attempt to paint and describe all the birds of America (Alexander Wilson has that distinction), but for half a century he was the young country’s dominant wildlife artist.

Audubon was born in Les Cayes, ( Haiti), the extramarital son of a French sea captain and plantation owner his Creole servant Jeanne Rabin, he was given the name Jean Rabin at birth.

However, when his mother died shortly after his birth, he and his sister were sent to Nantes, France, where they were raised by the captain’s wife, Anne. The couple legally adopted the children in 1794 and gave Jean a new name: Jean-Jacques Fougère Audubon.

Early on, he was raised by his stepmother, Mrs. Audubon, in Nantes, France, and took a lively interest in birds, nature, drawing, and music.

Please check:
www.biography.com...

In 1803, at the age of 18, he was sent to America, in part to escape conscription into the Emperor Napoleon’s army. He lived on the family-owned estate at Mill Grove, near Philadelphia, where he hunted, studied, and drew birds, and met his wife, Lucy Bakewell. While there, he conducted the first known bird-banding experiment in North America, tying strings around the legs of Eastern Phoebes; he learned that the birds returned to the very same nesting sites each year.

Audubon spent more than a decade as a businessman, eventually traveling down the Ohio River to western Kentucky—then the frontier—and setting up a dry-goods store in Henderson. He continued to draw birds as a hobby, amassing an impressive portfolio. While in Kentucky, Lucy gave birth to two sons, Victor Gifford and John Woodhouse, as well as a daughter who died in infancy.

After a bankruptcy in business, Audubon set off on his epic quest to depict America’s avifauna, with nothing but his gun, artist’s materials, and a young assistant. Floating down the Mississippi, he lived a rugged hand-to-mouth existence in the South while Lucy earned money as a tutor to wealthy plantation families.

In 1826, he sailed with his partly finished collection to England. The American Woodsman was literally an overnight success. His life-size, highly dramatic bird portraits, along with his embellished descriptions of wilderness life, hit just the right note at the height of the Continent’s Romantic era.

Audubon found a printer for the Birds of America, first in Edinburgh, then London, and later collaborated with the Scottish ornithologist William MacGillivray on the Ornithological Biographies—life histories of each of the species in the work.

Ok, Let the brilliant immigrants that are bringing new creative ideas for industry or arts, capital to invest, willing to arrange businesses, to go elsewhere and with them create a lot of jobs in competitive enterprises in other countries instead, isn't it?

That's the way to hide the mediocrity of a leadership that does not want to recognize that is lacking really ideas to move this country ahead, and has devised the smog curtain of xenophobia with all that empty demagogy based on miserable perspectives.

Do you have any idea how many millions of American born people have made their way of life trading in some or other way the editions of the works of John J. Audubon? What has been his impact to enhance the graphic industry, the editorial Industry, the Ecology Tourism industry?

America became great moved by the momentum of migration, if that is cut off the meridian of progress will move to other countries more open than this one.

Have you ever wonder what would be of our style of life if Alexander Graham Bell, Enrico Fermi, Giugelmo Marconi, Albert Eisenstein, Werner Von Braun, Antonio Meuci, Nicola Tesla, Anthony Drexel, Ralph Baer, levi strauss, James Kraft, Luther George Simjian, Ernst F. Alexanderson, Charles Proteus Steinmetz never had come here?

Do you know how many of them came from small countries or as refugees even without really country of origin, like the ones escaped genocide?

Do you know how many millions of Americans have lived directly or indirectly from the creative ideas of the son of an immigrant that crossed the border with Canada, Elias Disney that came from Ontario, father of Walt Disney?

Elias Disney brought from Ontario to America his genes of Creative talent.

Lord! You do love carrying on, don't you? The 'brilliant' are likely to come legally or take advantage of the opportunity given them with over a decade to decide and act. Self-disqualification, it looks to me, even using your own 'logic'.

The discussion here is Not if they come legally or Not, it is more which countries they come from isn't it? don't you check news of the week? it seems there are new standards to qualify or disqualify countries instead of persons.

You know how equalitarian is the quota system to assign visas among all the countries? That is one of the main reasons illegal immigration exist by the way, because there are countries that have less than 1% of the visas granted per year.

Do you know in which status people that have gotten a lot of advantage of to be here came? like Arnold Schwazeneger or Michael J Fox?

Hypocrisy is the rule in to assign migration quotas by the way.

You insult intelligence. Countries have been targeted due to insufficient internal vetting. Illegal immigration IS a factor not withstanding your denial.

The U.S. dictates the status and percentile of immigrants from other countries, not you, nor me or the individuals involved. Blaming that as the 'reason' for illegal immigration is disingenuous. Flat out.

We have illegal immigration entirely due to the perception and fact of low to no consequence for the act. What started as almost all Mexican migration/invasion has led to others joining the party, after all, if the Mexicans get away with it, so can we.

Your meme of compassion would receive more traction if you perhaps sponsored one or two of these wonderful, brilliant 'immigrants'.

Until then?.....Yawn

Of course I'm quite right, and that is what bother you so much, as well as all the ones that insist to agitate hatred against other nationalities to deviate the attention from the real cause of the economic stagnation.

The real reason this country is on crisis is that people that were born, raised and also made fortunes here does Not have any loyalty to the nation that made them really prosperous and rich, they are only loyal to their selfish Interests.

They are the kind of renegades that prefer to over exploit workers that do not have any social security of benefits in countries that are either under Communism,or medieval style of slavery than to pay fair salaries here.

The lack of well paid jobs here is Not so much the ones taken by illegal immigrants, everybody knows they are miserably exploited, are the millions that were moved over seas to China, India, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Vietnam, all countries without social security for their worker class.

A government that really want to fix the National economy must request un extradition the traitors that moved giant capitals made in America, using this market, to Cayman Islands, Bahamas, New Zealand or Australia, well know paradises of Tax evators.

The current migration regulations are a good historic example of the difference between what is justice and what is legality, those laws you deffend so much have legalized discrimination by national origin for the applicants to green cards.

It is Not the quality of the person that wants to migrate what decides his or her migration status but mainly the nationality of origin, that is a constraint that bypass easily personal qualifications.

Under such an upside system of quotas a terrorist bandit coming from afghanistan or Chechetnya can come and get in record time admission or American residence and even citizenship while a LatinAmerican with creative talent in Arts or sciences can Not or pass decades before to get it.

The illegal migration and the unfair system of migration quotas are part of a vicious circle.

Why you mention so much the Mexicans by the way? What do you have against them? Are they in the same black list that supposedly is Haiti?

Of course, you are quite right!! Impossible for you to be wrong, right?

Wrong. None of us 'hate nationalities'. All of us originated from and are nationalities.

Next, the ones who would exploit, as you say, are not us. I...we...do not exploit anyone.. WE are the victims as well of those that are exploited. Lose our jobs, lose wage levels. Forced to compete with those illegally here who would work for less.

Next, in most companies the illegals are paid the same as the 'natives'. If you believe otherwise, you are completely out of touch with the working class. The lowered wages fall under supply and demand of the workforce not, these days, due to less pay for illegals.

Extradition? How cruel on your part! The incentive, largely gov't driven, encouraged the exportation of those assets. The tax disincentives convinced them to leave. Now we have a leader that creates incentive to return a portion of those monies.

You'd attempt extradition....as if those countries benefiting from those people would even comply.

Discrimination... Thank goodness for that ability!! To discriminate in the clothing you wear, the food one eats, the persons you would allow your daughter to date or associate with. Your friends, who you work for...or with. Who you would invite into your house. Who we invite into our house. The nation.

You cite Mexican and how many times (I haven't) mentioned. LMAO. My daughter married a Mendoza and imported him from Sinaloa...LEGALLY. I have a granddaughter that is Mexican-American. More than you have done, you hypocrite.

You position the terrorist from Afghanistan and the 'artist' from Mexico. I will balance you positioning with the massively oppressed woman from Afghanistan with the MS-13 member from Mexico. Fair? It doesn't exist.

Our turf, not yours. Out rules not there's, not yours. Our house, not yours.....nor your personal house which is still empty of 'compassion' you bleat.

My contempt.

First at all you don't know me so it is really difficult to claim that you know what I have done or what I have lacked to do, yours look more as a personal attacks rhetoric than an intelligent debate of ideas.

That is the tolerance and respect for human dignity you want to project?

Second, you were who brought here Mexico in discussion, that is even Not part of the topic, I never mentioned that country in the thread before you suddenly started to mention Mexicans moved by your own ideas.

There many valuable people that can contribute a lot to the progress of this country but are already married, so they are automatically excluded of the only kind of legality you like.

Import?

What a derogatory term is that my God, we are talking about a person, not an animal, nor a thing by the way, it is Not a piece of furniture you are going to use.

You have a grand daughter that is Mexican American and the only thing you can express about Mexico in a thread about a Haitian Polymath is the MS-13?

You must think you are doing a great favor to have included her in your family isn't it?

The point here is that you are defending policies that are doing turns around the reaL problem, that are founded in a smog curtain, so they are Not going to solve the issue at all.

Your jobs and the ones of millions of sub or unemployed Americans lost were Not given to any person illegal immigrant but to slave workers over seas, that's were it is the actual root cause of the problem.

A Capital is made in a market, it is generated by it, a person can posses it but it belongs to the place it was created, because without Consumers it can Not exist at all, so extradiction is a proper measure to stop who wants to pull it to another Market to don't pay Taxes.

Who is Not loyal to the people made him prosperous, to the nation that made his fortune, is a traitor of the worst kind, able to sell his or her own mother for money.

The problem is Not going to be solved with more internal divisions nor with stop a migration that by the way is right now almost inexistent, that it is in its lowest point in decades.

The matter will be fixed when instead to admit a person with No credentials what so ever to generate or impulse businesses in America, just because he or she is in the Nationalities Not subject to quotas, we start to bring people considering their abilities, education and talents over any other criteria

The change we require is Not a filter against Nationalities but entirely new standards that remove racial discrimination not profiling and favoring quality Conntrol instead, to evaluate immigrants as persons and Not as ethnical labels.

The terrorists that carried September 11th 2001 as well as the ones involved in Boston Bombing entered the country legally but more over easily thanks to this system that privileges some Nationalities over others.

The rest of your reply is of course extremelely judgemental, as it was the very first, trying to put in my mouth what are your fears or prejudgements, nothing that I really meant.

No. It's discrimination. Between logic and rhetoric. Between reality and some vision that creates as much or more 'unfairness' than it fixes. You, with thin veil accuse me/us of national discrimination. Claim I make frequent Mexican comments when it's nothing but historical sequence.

Once again, you slander those that disagree all the while proclaim your vision as correct laced with hubris. There is no 'logic' in your position. None. It is rhetoric of intangible, subjective 'fairness' and Justice.

Do I 'know' you or what you've done? Nope.

But if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, craps like a duck....calling it a duck will suffice.

You are deviating the discussion here to a topic that clearly obsess you, Nothing to do with the contribution of John J. Audubon to the National Science or with important aspects of his life.

I have Not called you by names, in spite of all your bold provocations and that you certainly has done it with me and your other insults against me.

I have tried to discuss in a civilized way but it is clear you have come here to insult who ever you believe disagree with you.

If I have talked on migration is since if the standards you are backing are applied there would be never anymore an opportunity to receive another immigrant like John J Audubon at future.

You are not open to analyze any logical statements because your position is judgemental and fundamentalist, so not based in reason but in dogma.

You just came here to spread since the very beginning the so visible hatred that you have against immigrants of certain origin or spectrum.

Of course John J Audubon as an immigrant is Not going to pass your standards since your point is not content of personality but profiling people.

It is eloquent of what are your intentions here to see that in spite of all the huge legacy of this man the only aspect has caught your attention was that he was Haitian.

There is No single comment from your multiple replies that refers to Audubon work, neither in ornitology, or in other branches of biology he contributed with his career nor in his drawing or painting of wild life or any of his famous publications.

You love your voice/words. It has to do with your over bellicose post linking it to Haiti. As if it carried any weight whatsoever with immigration laws.

Your complaint of unfairness of immigration laws and the length of time to suffer the process is ongoing and your obsession. All fine for you to call someone obsessed, discriminatory. When karma brings it back around you fall back on decorum.

Quack, quack.
