and here on page 175 we have the bit that is being reported about him mentioning the FBI having a source within the Trump campaign:

5 they -- my understanding was that they believed
6 Chris at this point -- that they believed Chris's
7 information might be credible because they had
8 other intelligence that indicated the same thing
9 and one of those pieces of intelligence was a human
10 source from inside the Trump organization.

I wonder if what this is a reference to is the Australian government reaching out the the US about Papadopolous.

I may have said was have you heard anything 11 from the FBI because by then it was obvious there 12 was a crime in progress.

The informant bit is interesting for sure.
If true, then it's both shocking and a relief to think that at least one individual on team Cheeto may possess an ounce of honesty and integrity. There may be hope for this country after all...

All of page 178 and 179 seems relevant. Asked if there were any other interactions between the FBI and Steele that he was aware of aside from the July contact (possibly July 5th) and the meeting in Rome:

6 think it was probably telephonic that occurred
7 after Director Comey sent his letter to Congress
8 reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton's
9 e-mails. That episode, you know, obviously created
10 some concern that the FBI was intervening in a
11 political campaign in contravention of
12 long-standing Justice Department regulation.
13 So it made a lot of people, including us,
14 concerned about what the heck was going on at the
15 FBI. So, you know, we began getting questions from
16 the press about, you know, whether they were also
17 investigating Trump and, you know, we encouraged
18 them to ask the FBI that question. You know, I
19 think -- I'm not sure we've covered this fully,
20 but, you know, we just encouraged them to ask the
21 FBI that question.
22 On October 31st the New York Times posed a
23 story saying that the FBI is investigating Trump
24 and found no connections to Russia and, you know,
25 it was a real Halloween special.

Simpson claims that Steele stopped communicating with the FBI:

1 Sometime thereafter the FBI -- I understand
2 Chris severed his relationship with the FBI out of
3 concern that he didn't know what was happening
4 inside the FBI and there was a concern that the FBI
5 was being manipulated for political ends by the
6 Trump people and that we didn't really understand
7 what was going on. So he stopped dealing with
8 them.

Some other bits from the next page or two is Simpson stating that he didn't direct the research or edit any of the memos.

It looks like they're getting back into the Trump Tower meeting at this point. This is out of sequence now as it all appears many many pages earlier but I figured I'd weigh in. I personally don't find much of interest in the Veselnitskaya stuff as I don't think Veselnitskaya was actually representing the Kremlin nor bringing anything Earth-shattering to the Trump team but rather was just giving the same spiel she was delivering to members of Congress.

It's worth mentioning that he affirmed pretty much everything (they were doing work for the Prevezon case, he had met Veselnitskaya and her pals, etc). Of note though there, he said he had no knowledge of the Trump Tower meeting until it was reported. He also denied knowing anything specifically about lobbying efforts. He did however seem to indicate at multiple points that in addition to doing the investigative work, they were also communicating with members of the press almost as adjunct PR. That was my main takeaways from the first half.

I read about 25 pages in then skimmed down about 50 or so a few times and read a bit in each area...I had the feeling by reading his responses he was hiding things...that's just me though. I mean its not a huge company and for the leader of that company to be unable to come up with good answers to some of the questions felt off. Also he flat out refused to discuss who his clients were in regards to who initially approached them to research Trump. So far I feel like he is trying his best to hide something...but that's just my opinion from what I was able to read in a short span.

I'm not fond of Bannon and rumor is he is going to work for the austrian government. He certainly would be the best way to feed the other side bogus intel i give him that.

Sigh I knew we had fools for reps in the country but I didnt know they could be so stupid. How did they use the dossier to effect the election when the public didnt know about it til after the election?
