The car does not reproduce, nor does it adapt to survive. Those are two essential qualities of life. (IMHO)

Computers do both. They play a huge role in the design of future PC's.

Computers have they're basic sets of rules (OS), just as humans do. The OS is "installed" in us through our childhood development. This process is when we learn how to "behave" and other basic skills. Similar to how an OS tells a PC how to "behave" and function.

A computer does nothing. absolutely nothing. a computer is as lifeless as a rock.

Take a computer, give it a sentient being, then you can do something. There is a difference between responding to input, and taking input and making a decision based upon it. There is a difference between learning and being programmed. There is a difference between making more and having more made. There is a difference between evolution and technological advancement.

well we have created a coputer program that actually copies evolution so to say i will be posting the actual news article on it, quite interesting stuff. Not sure how many universities are using a similar program to study evolution but i know Michigan State is using one.

hmm, interesting, what do you mean 'copies evolution?' Also, how is that creating life?
