I would have declared war the instant it was proven to me beyond a doubt that China and Russia were sneaking oil to the Nokos.

The purpose of those sanctions was, ostensibly at least, to avoid war! So by sneaking them supplies, they are saying they don't give a F if there's a war...so why should we?

Lightning strike them so fast, from every angle, they will not even have time to open their silo doors into launch position. A multi pronged coordinated precision strike designed to disable the enemies WMD deployment capabilities within the first 30-60 minutes of war.

The US has missed its window of opportunity in dealing with North Korea. There is nothing short of military intervention which will achieve America's goals, and even then such a move is extremely risky. Kim Jong-un has outplayed the US and the rest of the world. He has won, because no one is going to go to war, despite what these warmongering individuals say.

All on Obamas watch, BTW. Obama let every horrible regime bubble to the top, and even handed them billions of dollars to do it.

There is no simple way to deal with North Korea. Kim Jong Un knows this and can keep making threats and throwing bombs where ever he likes.
I get the feeling nobody wants to be the first country to start another war.

I'm telling you right now. China, or no China, If NK shoots off another missile, they're getting attacked. That's it. And, this is not going to be an invasion, they're getting glassed over as fast as possible.

North Korea is the aggressor in this equation so you need to "own it".

How many warships does North Korea have sitting off your coast and how many troops and heavy equipment do they have in Mexico waiting for Kim to give the word ?

Trump is a bully , this we know , Kim is standing up to the bully and making him look silly (not difficult really)

You hate Trump so much you're willing to side with NK? Man, Trump has triggered you people. I suggest, since you love NK so much, why don't you move there?

There's a reason George Bush didn't nuke Afghanistan after 9-11 and there's a reason no bombs have been dropped since WW2. Nuclear weapons should be a last resort in any scenario. We are the worlds super power we lead by example. Have you seen the horrors of what happened in Japan after we dropped the atom bombs?

I don't take the use of Nuclear weapons lightly. I'm not sympathizing with the enemy either. My grandmother worked in a munitions factory during ww2. She made parts for the bombs dropped on Japan. My grandfather was at Omaha Beach Normandy. My grandmothers nephew was at Pearl Harbor. My other grandfather was in Korea. My uncle died in Vietnam.

I don't take war lightly.

Where did you see me use nuclear weapons? We can glass them over in 20 minutes using conventional weapons. And, we should.

Go it, you're from England and trying to tell the U.S. how to handle it's problems. If another country wants to tell us it's going to Nuke us, you bet your ass we're going to take them out first.

No one knows Trumps next step. Not even Bolton. However, the NK nuclear arsenal should not have been allowed to happen and the US let it happen. Now, it is a big problem.

One that cannot be ignored anymore. Personally I think they should simply kill Kim. Cut off the head and see what happens. No one else is going to step and launch something if he is killed. Not a chance.

They could have "wiped" out NK regime easily a decade or two ago. My senses tell me that NK is an ally of China, covertly to us civilians, overtly to the people that matter and that may be why they still exist. Our government's threats and sanctions we're likely just vain attempts to stall the inevitable. Now, NK and SK will probably remain divided.

Concerning the doom and gloom, I think only SK and Japan has to worry about that and that truth is quite possibly the primary reason for not attacking NK, nuclear weapons or not, SK would suffer a saddening civilian death count... NK as well.

Only one problem: China needs North Korea as a buffer zone, so to speak, between it and South Korea. If NK unifies with South Korea or becomes friendly towards the West, or if Kim is deposed/whacked/whatever, China won't be very happy about it.

You are a fool. Why would the US go against Russia then?

Why would the US make Russia its number 1 enemy. Russia can whipe the US of the map. IF this is not MAD what is?

You are such a pathetic patriot that you are blinded by it.

Speaking of fool maybe you should reread my post since it doesnt mention Russia in the context you are trying to portray.

What is pathetic is you trying to make an argument on something that was never stated by me.

Maybe learn to read and comprehend before making an ass out of yourself.

Whilst I am in no way fully versed when it come to the North Korea situation. Is it not just a back and forth.

"Stop doing that"

and

"We won't stop doing that"

Almost along the same lines as two children in the playground trying to come up with more witty insults to throw at each other. Then going home and repeating the same thing the next school day. Meaning just words followed by more hollow words?

Just my input, I'm new here so as I said, I may be behind on this.

Here's an update.....but I don't know who the reporter was referring to while quoting "experts" and "Defcon:"

Experts warned of the burgeoning conflict between North Korea and the US as they announced the latest Defcon condition code. And they predicted the US would jump at the chance to declare war on Kim Jong-un’s hermit state. Defcon has monitored and analysed nuclear threats against the US since 1984, and classes the immediacy of the threat numerically and by colour. The US is currently at Defcon 5, code Green, meaning there are no imminent nuclear threats against the country.

further down in the report:

“South Korea believes that North Korea may complete its nuclear program in 2018. Additionally, North Korea is continuing work at expanding the Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site. “We are likely to see another nuclear test much sooner than most experts predicted.” Defcon has also outlined the belief that the US wants to use military force against North Korea, as this is the only way it can conceive of stopping Kim Jong-un’s nuclear programme. However, it does not have the support to attack first, and so is “hoping North Korea will provide the provocation necessary to attack”.

Source
This conflicts with reports about Kim extending the Olive Branch to South Korea while referencing the PyeongChang Olympics and making note of his nuclear button in the same speech.

All I know is, war is coming and Trump waiting too darned long to launch a pre-emptive strike. None of the sanctions worked but they did give North Korea more time to perfect its wmd's, including biological and chemical.

I have little hope of a peaceful resolution, unless the Lord Himself steps in.

Yes and given the way N. Korea treats its citizens my analysis is correct. The North Korean people are brainwashed into thinking their lives in exchange for their dear leaders is what is required. The regime in N. Korea has no qualms killings its own citizens to achieve its goals.

Russia / USSR on the other hand dont share that view with regards to their citizens (at least after Stalin). The US / USSR-Russia / NATO all accept the fact people will die in a war but we measure success and failure on objectives completed balanced in loss of life and equipment to achieve it,

North Korea does not have that mindset.

So I see the trees and the forest just fine. I think it is you and your ability to attack something you dont understand because of a non existent slight you perceived towards Russia that is causing you issues.

N. Korea and China, during the Korean war, had no problems using human wave attacks. In. N. Korea the preservation of the leader is of utmost im0portance and all lives but the leaders are expendable. The leadership of N. Korea, when faced with defeat by a resumption of the war, will lash out. The Norths mindset is if they cant control the peninsula then it will be a waste land. If N. Korea is going to lose the war then the citizens of North Korea should perish for allowing the loss to happen. Un, unlike his father and grandfather, never served in the military.

This goes back to what I was saying about the previous North Korean leaders admiring Hitler and the way the Nazi regime did things. If you arent familiar with history Hitler also viewed the German people as expendable when they started losing the war. He felt if the German people refused to fight to the death to defend Hitler and his Nationalist socialist ideology then they were not worthy of the government defending. They were left to their own fate at the hands of the advancing allies while squads were sent out by Hitler to execute people who refused to fight.

When a society is built around one person, that person is the only one whose life matters. Everyone else is expendable.

The DEFCON level for the US is classified and not released to the public. The defcon site uses guesses and opinions to "divine" what defcon / threatcon level the US military is at.
