And since when are somewhat sacrosanct (but stupid) policy decisions from the 90ies relevant for the here and now? Was there anything from that time and age, policy-wise, that actually deserves another chance?
A balanced budget?

Even though the status of Jerusalem as capital city has been agreed will be the subject of negotiations in the final stages of peace talks. The reactions on here are so typical of what we tend to se from right wing Americans these days.
The great mass of nations in the world, including the USA's closest military ally, disagree with a unilateral and completely unhelpful declaration by the Trump administration and all the dolls come out of the pram.
The ever ubiquitous "what-about-ism" was out straight away as the discussion is deflection to criminal acts by individuals and naming other countries as if the UN ignores them and all the other perceived failings of the UN are thrown about without ever once actually talking about the subject of what this vote is actually about.
All the would-be Rambo's are already talking about fighting off a UN invasion in the streets of America (WT actual F?) These members are clearly insane or just idiots anyway, they way they pulled this fantasy out of their arseholes.
Even officially though, the statement "The United States will remember this day where it was singled out for attack.....etc" by whoever it was, show how far removed the US administration from world opinion, international diplomacy, or even adulthood, never mind what democracy even means.

Then Trump has the Gaul to talk about being optimistic for peace in the region and all the performing seals clap for a fish.
The sheer arrogance and disregard displayed by the US and the current administrations supporters beggars belief. Especially since, despite all the hot air and posing, Trump has already signed the same waiver that previous presidents signed to delay the move. So what's all this posturing really about?

What part of this resolution is the one "doing harm to those it is supposed to be protecting"?

Which is what I'd call a whataboutism. Maybe it's worth to think about the potential harm of moving an embassy instead?

But what about all the depleted uranium used in this war with terror, harming pretty much all the kids of Fallujah with staggering cancer rates?
You see where this is going, right?
Says who?

Except not everyone who despises the UN is a 'right wing American', some of us see that organization for what it is, a corrupt, inept and dangerous group with a proven track record of doing harm to those it is supposed to be protecting.
