To the owners,

I was confronted with numerous images as I attempted to log on today which I think are totally inappropriate. One innocent image has been turned into a 'simulated sex act with a child' joke. Disgusting in my opinion.

Whatever happened to advertising actual products instead of gutter media?

So that's what young people are calling cleavage: "gutter". It's hard to stay hip.

Aren’t the ads targeted? Meaning based off search history etc?

Heheh thanks for the insight on what you’re lookin at haha

I fail to see where a child is involved?
I can only see a picture of a young man getting what looks like a lap dance.
But hey, I guess you can find sexual harassment and pedophilia in everything these day.

I have been a member here for a long time, and I lurked for years before that, NEVER have I had an add like that pop up. It could have been linked to something else you had browsed. Not ATS. Also, there are no children involved in your picture. Again I think this is on you.

I get adds about penis enlargement methods all the time eventhough I've never searched about it. On the other hand my wife could be searching for methods to enlarge my penis.
Wait...it makes sense now

99 percent of the ads are clickbait.

"OMG, YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS NEW TRICK THAT THE GROCERY STORES DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW!!!!!"

Judging by these ads(stories) that must work, I've come to the conclusion that pretty much everyone know fits the legal definition of mentally handicapped.

That actually made me laugh out loud. Too funny

Maybe y’all need to have a talk, OR a better idea do some searches on her computer for “female genital rejuvenation “ 🤣😂

That would start a war

Bahahaha...so true...I still have veggie juicer pictures showing up on some websites from Walmart even though I already stopped researching juicers after I bought one from Best Buy.

What is creepy is when you text or email someone about what you are thinking about as a gift for someone and you see multiple ads pop up for that item... even though you have not searched for them yet.

I know the ads for me are from BH Cosmetics, Sephora, TooFaced, Zulilly and Shoe Dazzle.
Nary a butt in sight. I'd say it's pretty targeted since I have accounts in every one of those sites. LOL.

Creepier yet is when you speak of something you've never searched for, only to have ads show up quickly thereafter.

No one can tell me that isn't happening. Too many times now.

It's targeted, yes.
But not always because one searched for or looked at something. Sometimes that is the case.
Other times, it's geared towards a certain demographic. Not like we don't give up personal info when we register at many sites. Even little things.

Age group.
Sex.

Probably the two biggest ones.

There will come a day when you won't even have to type it . All you'll have to do is think it.
This happens on Facebook messenger. You type in I'll meet you at the mall it then offers mall websites. If you say tomorrow it offers a calendar. It's creepy.

I have slipped
onto various sites in the past and ads come up on ATS showing that sort of thing more often then not. I just ignore them and move on. The ads are annoying but if it gives this site revenue, so be it.

Have you seen the one with the donkey being attacked by bumble bees. I think it's political, I didn't read it.

Hmmm...I get Cosamin Joint Health ads. I guess I need to spice it up a bit on my web searches.

These pop up on my work computer! Which is on lockdown from IT so it's not targeted.
